I married above my station. I slipped in under the radar and caught her unaware. That was 33 years ago and I know when I have a good thing going.

I live with my father. I have SSDi and have a permant ID card due to my being disabled. Getting marriedwould jeoparddize all of these things.

We are approaching 28 years married this June. It's been an incredible ride and one I'd do over again in a heartbeat!

47 years come June 12; and I was on the high side of 28 the day I wed my own personal "Sandra Dee".
I say that because I just mentioned to my wife yesterday that her engagement picture (hanging on our living room wall) looked just like Sandra Dee, 'cept her hair was just a little darker than Sandra's.

Married my first husband when we were both unbelievers.
Then I was, he wasn't. Bad combo!

I stayed alone, as in totally alone after our divorce, wouldn't so much as honor a request to go out for coffee with a guy and never saw myself getting married again, dating, or even thinking about it. Around seven years later, I joked to a friend who asked about it that Gd would have to drop a guy on my lap.

Must have made Him giggle, because He did so after seven years of no intentions whatsoever of looking at a guy, not even cross-eyed, I was married again, this time to a believer. Best guy in the world and it's amazing to see what crazy circumstances have all worked together and what we've been brought through by grace, despite this insane world. We truly serve a powerful Gd. Sure glad to be on the right side of things this time! I didn't know it could be like this.

I've been given what might be called "The Gift of Chastity" -- IOW, God just never seemed to give me an all-compelling desire to be married.

To some folks that may sound rather unusual; in fact, I've even be accused of being g@y because I've never been married and have no real desire to be married.

This does by no stretch of the imagination mean that I'm against folks being married. If that's what God has called to do, then go ahead and get (& stay) married!

Moreover, I am by no means a woman hater and/or one that does not love children.....It's just that this is what I firmly believe has been God's will/plan for me.

Of course, I realize that this life-long "Gift of Chastity" that God has given me [I'm close to 67.5 YO---47 of those years in God's family.] puts me in a rather unique category; but, I'm content with it [Philippians 4:11] and it doesn't bother me one bit that I'm going to be single for life.
