    Servant,

Actually, I have been praying for those that I believe, with all my heart, are spreading the message of Satan more than the message of God.

I do agree, that right now, I am not coming across as very loving in my rebuke, and for that I do ask forgiveness.

    Re Billy Graham:

This is what Graham teaches. From his own website:

    http://www.billygraham.org/DMag_article.asp?ArticleID=569

I'm posting parts of the sermon:

The Bible teaches that it costs something to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. First, we need to realize the high price of sin. The Bible says, "The wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23, NIV). That is a high price to pay for sin-physical death, spiritual death, eternal death. The Bible says that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23, NIV). The Bible also says that "a man reaps what he sows" (Galatians 6:7, NIV). Many of you are reaping what you have sown. You may be religious; you may go to church. But deep down in your heart there is that guilt because you know that you are not right with God and that your sins are not forgiven. You haven't changed your way of living.

Everything is not OK. You may have been baptized and confirmed and you may go to church. But Sunday is just one day, and the rest of your week—your business life, your home life—is something else.

You must not just become a Christian; you must also be a Christian all the time, 24 hours a day. You should bear the fruit of the Spirit, which the Holy Spirit supernaturally produces in you when you come to know Christ.

Jesus Christ paid a high price for your sins. He died on the cross for your sins. He suffered death and hell and judgment for you in your place. He rose again for you.

You can come to God, and He will forgive your sins and give you the power—power that you have never known before—to resist temptation. But you need to repent of your sin. Have you renounced your sin? That is what it means to repent. It means to say to God, "I have sinned, but I'm willing to renounce my sins and change my way of living."

Finally, there is the high price of commitment. You, too, must pay a high price, a high cost. Jesus must become first in your life as your Lord and your Master and your Savior. Jesus never offered a bargain. He said, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me" (Matthew 16:24, NIV).

What does that mean? It may cost you a great deal when you come to Christ. For some of you, it will cost you friends. They won't want a person around them who lives a clean life and talks about God and reads the Bible and prays. It becomes embarrassing to them.

It may mean misunderstanding. Jesus told us that His coming divides families. Some will say yes, and some will say no.

It may cost you something to come to Christ. It may cost you time and effort. You may have to get up earlier in the morning to read your Bible, and that may be hard for some of you. It may mean that you will have to witness to a neighbor. You may feel embarrassed or shy about it. It may mean that you will have to treat your wife or your husband differently. It may mean a whole new relationship with your family. God may speak to you in a hundred different ways.

Are you willing to pay that price in order to have God's joy and God's peace and God's forgiveness?

Then I am going to ask you to make that commitment—a hard commitment. There are no shortcuts to heaven.

Do you want to know more about what it means to become a Christian? Because Christ died, your sins can be forgiven, and because He conquered death you can have eternal life

The central theme of the Bible is God's love for you and for all people. This love was revealed when Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came into the world as a human being, lived a sinless life, died on the cross, and rose from the dead. Because Christ died, your sins can be forgiven, and because He conquered death you can have eternal life. You can know for sure what will become of you after you die.

You have probably heard the story of God's love referred to as the "Gospel." The word Gospel simply means "Good News." The Gospel is the Good News that, because of what Christ has done, we can be forgiven and can live forever.

But this gift of forgiveness and eternal life cannot be yours unless you willingly accept it. God requires an individual response from you. The following verses from the Bible show God's part and yours in this process:

God's Love Is Revealed in the Bible
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." —John 3:16 (NIV)

    We Are Sinful
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." —Romans 3:23 (NIV)

    Sin Has a Penalty
"For the wages of sin is death." —Romans 6:23 (NIV)

    Christ Has Paid Our Penalty!
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." —Romans 5:8 (NIV)

The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ, the sinless Son of God, has paid the penalty for all your sins. You may think you have to lead a good life and do good deeds before God will love you. But the Bible says that Christ loved you enough to die for you, even when you were rebelling against Him.

    Salvation Is a Free Gift
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." —Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV)

The word grace means "undeserved favor." It means God is offering you something you could never provide for yourself: forgiveness of sins and eternal life, God's gift to you is free. You do not have to work for a gift. All you have to do is joyfully receive it, Believe with all your heart that Jesus Christ died for you!

Christ Is at Your Heart's Door
"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me." —Revelation 3:20 (NIV)

Jesus Christ wants to have a personal relationship with you. Picture, if you will, Jesus Christ standing at the door of your heart (the door of your emotions, intellect and will). Invite Him in; He is waiting for you to receive Him into your heart and life.

    You Must Receive Him
"Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." —John 1:12 (NIV)

When you receive Christ into your heart you become a child of God, and have the privilege of talking to Him in prayer at any time about anything. The Christian life is a personal relationship to God through Jesus Christ. And best of all, it is a relationship that will last for all eternity.

If you are making this commitment to Christ today, please let us know. We would like to send you Bible study materials to help you grow in your faith.

Now - what part of what Dr. Graham teaches is "false?"

I did support my claim. I told you what Graham said. I cited the sources. How is that not support?

God said differently. God said one of the most Christian things we can do is point out when someone is disobedient or teaches false doctrine.

Where did Christ say anything about love standing above correction? Did I miss that somewhere? Christ said we should "speak the truth in love." Therefore, it would be wrong to leave the truth out of love.

Sorry Tex, but I have to say something here, in love...you've misquoted me twice. In the Ninevah thread I said, "you write way too much feel-good, mushy emotionalism without sound doctrine...some of it makes me wanna puke". You charged that I said "YOU make me want to puke". Not quite the same, eh?! And now you're saying I told you it was heretical to teach love. Not true.

You claim you have other things on your mind...I agree. Perhaps you should tend to those things and quit stirring it up all over the Board. Love ya.

Christ said the greatest commandment is love of God, Christ said the second greatest commandment is love. Christ said that judgment is HIS. Christ said to correct in love. Christ said "do not judge."

What part of that is so hard to understand?

As to Graham, I just presented evidence of what Billy Graham teaches. It is what he has taught for decades, probably more decades than you have lived.

I know what he has taught for decades, and it hasn't changed. He has taught, over and over and again the following:

All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
The wages of sin is death.
God so loved the world that He gave his only begotteon son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish but have everlasting life.
That salvation requires faith in Jesus Christ, which is a faith of repentence, asking for forgiveness.

That Christ is the only way to the Father.

    THAT is what Graham teaches.

There millions who can testify to that.
There are thousands of pieces of literature out by the man to that affect.

Yes, you pull one interview, and without any idea if the interview is accurate, doctored, or taken out of context, condemn the man and his ministry?

You put one piece, which totally contradicts everything the man has ever said, ever taught, ever stated he believed, and say, "This is true, so he is a false teacher."

    That's just BUNK.

I do not know if the interview is accurate in any way. I don't even know if it actually happened. If your only source is the web, odds are HIGH it didn't happen.

I don't know if there was an interview if it was doctored to destroy or not. Or if Dr. Graham mis-spoke due to illness, exhaustion or just simple old age and confusion.

I DO know, without a doubt, it is NOT what he has taught for decades, nor what he writes, nor what he has ever before, in many decades of ministry, stated.

Over and over and over his message has been simple. Salvation comes through Christ.

To write him off as you did, to judge him based on a post you can't guarantee is even right, is just wrong!

When I saw that, and saw how uncharacteristic of Dr Graham it was, I wrote Dr. Graham and said, "Please explain this to me."

You can do the same thing.

    Granny,

The meaning is the same. The wording was still unChristian. The message was the same. The message was still UnChristian.

"makes me want to puke" is no "nicer" no more loving, no more Christian than "makes me puke."

Now, if you REALLY meant that statement to be anything other than what I read it as, you had ample opportunity in that thread, when people called you on it, to say, "I'm sorry, Texas, that isn't what I meant."

    You didn't.

You said my statements about loving god were "mushy" and hereticitical and, as you just admitted, "makes me want to puke."

It was an un Christian remark.

If you folks ~really~ want me to go back and cut and paste every unChristian, judgmental, hateful post made, I will do it.

    But you won't like it.

Judging from your posts and the number of times you've been reprimanded for twisting scripture and other posters words, you have little or no credibility. Stand on whatever you want, I am again pointing out that you have lied about others here and myself. Grow up.

TexasSky states: Av: You can take umbriage if you want, but when you sit back and try to condemn me for "having tunnel vision about the love of Christ," and tell me, in the next post that your right to judge comes from Paul preaching Christ's judgment, I rest my case. CHRIST's judgement is NOT yours.

AVL1984 Responds: TS, Nowhere did I condemn you. I stated a fact, that fact being your tunnel vision on the subject of Christ’s love. I nowhere have stated that Christ is not love, nor will I ever. But you seem to have the mind to negate the Holiness of God in favor of the love, thereby doing away with His holiness and the judgment that will come to those who do not know him. Hell is real.

TexasSky posts these verses: Romans 12:9 "Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil, clint to what is good. (EMPHASIZED BY TS)Be devoted to one another in brother love. Honor one another above yourselves. (END EMPHASIS) Never be lackign in zeal, but keep your spiritual ferver, serveing the lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another.(EMPHASIZED BY TS) Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. (End Emphasis) Do not be conceited. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, (Emphasized by TS)live at peace with everyone. (End Emphasis) Do not take revenge my friends, (Emphasized by TS) but leave room for God's wrath for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. (End Emphasis)On the contrary, if your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this you will heep burning coals on his head. (Emphasized by TS)Do not be overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good. (End Emphasis)

Romans 13:8 "Let no debt remain outstanding, expect the continuing debt to love one another for who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law. Do not murder, do not steal, do not covet, and (Emphasized by TS)whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule. Love your neighbor as yourself. Love does no harm to its neighbor. Terefore love is the fulfillment of the law. (End Emphasis)

AVL1984 Responds: TS, nobody is disputing the validity of these Scriptures, and I pretty much can say that you’ve not got an iota of proof that anyone has.
The twisting is in the selectiveness of what you chose to highlight, with the presupposition that other Christians don’t agree with this and that you’re more righteous than they are. Yet, I find that you are judging here, are you not? Yes…you are. Well??? Pointing out doctrinal error and improper exegesis of the passages isn’t judging. It is correcting. Quit trying to play the part of the martyr, because you’re not. I would like to point out the end of Romans 13:8 “Love is the fulfillment of the law.” Indeed it is. That would bring us to the question of what love is….Is it just sitting on our haunches and letting someone get by with doctrinal error or the twisting of scripture? No, it is not. That would be error on our parts, and we are told to prove all things and to hold fast to that which is good. Love isn’t just sitting idly by while someone continues to lead someone down the wrong path with their opinion of what the Bible says.

It seems to me in the verses below that there IS INDEED a degree of judging involved to determine what/whom needs to be rebuked, reproved, etc…..

    2Ti 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2Ti 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
    2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
2Ti 4:5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
2Ti 4:6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
2Ti 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
2Ti 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
2Ti 4:9 Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me:
2Ti 4:10 For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.

In order to reprove or rebuke, one must indeed make a judgment call by inspection of not only the persons involved, but the circumstances. To think anything else is ludicrous and poor exegesis of scripture. Though I have not said anything about judging in previous posts, you seem to continuously imply that I and others have, yet you neglect to open your eyes to your own JUDGMENT of us. Something isn’t quite right about that….I wonder what!

TS POSTS: Want to discuss judgement of Christians?

Lets see what Paul really said shall we?

Romans 14:1 "Accept him whose faith is weak without passing judgment on disputable matters."
One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables, (Emphasis by TS)the man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does. FOR GOD HAS ACCEPTED HIM, WHO ARE YOU TO JUDGE SOMEONE ELSE'S SERVANT?" To his own Master he stands or falls, and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. (End Emphasis)

OPPS. Looks like Paul might not agree that you have the right to dispense God's judgment.

AVL1984 Responds: Again, nobody is in disagreement with this verse. But, the verse is talking of food and convictions on the same. Still I didn’t bring up judgment, and you did and incorrectly interpreted this verse, again, in a desperate attempt to prove a point that is moot!

1Th 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

Hmmmm…proving all things involves judgment of the proof….Well, I’ll be! Now let’s look at another….

Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Mat 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Mat 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
Mat 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Mat 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Mat 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Again…the above talks of knowing them by their fruits….Hmmmm….that involves a degree of judgment….Again….Though I didn’t bring up the subject of judgment, YOU DID, and this is for YOUR BENEFIT, TS!

TS POSTS: Want more from Paul on the topic?

Look at Romans 14: 19 "Let us make every effort ot do what leads to peace (Emphasized by TS)and to mutual edification . " (End Emphasis)

AVL1984 Responds to this lax interpretation of this scripture by TS: mutual edification doesn’t mean overlooking the error you are spreading. Neither does it mean overlooking your false accusations and character assassination of others such as Brother Larry.

TS POSTS: Romans 14:7 "Accept one another then, jsut as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God."

AVL1984 Responds: Accepting one another doesn’t mean that we have to idly sit by while scripture is incorrectly interpreted. I can accept you and point out your error at the same time.

TS POSTS: 1 Corinithians 3:3 "You are still wordly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you,are you not wordly? Are you not acting like mere men? For when one says, "I follow Paul," and another, "I follow Apollos," are you not mere men?

AVL1984 Responds: I don’t quite gather the significance of this verse, unless you are implying that I am saying “I am of Paul”, which again would be you twisting my words and implying I’ve said something I haven’t. But, I’m finding this common for you.

    TS POSTS:
How does Paul say we need to handle a Christian who sinned? 2 Corinithians 1:5 "If anyone has caused grief, he has not so much grieved me as he has grieved all of you to some extent. Not to put it too severly. The punishment inflicted on him by the majority is sufficient for hi. Now instead you ought to forgive and comfort him, that he is not overwhelmed by excessive sorry. I urge you, therefore, to reaffirm your love for him.

AVL1984 Responds: This is an incorrect verse. Mind finding the correct one? But, even at that, the verse in context is talking of causing grief or an offense against someone else. Again, though, nobody is saying we shouldn’t treat others with love. You’ve interpreted it that way in your warped view of everyone else and your pious view of yourself.

TS POSTS: Oh, wait, what is this? Galations 6:1 "Brothers, if someone is caught in sin, you should (Emphasis by TS)restore him gently . (End Emphasis)

AVL1984 Responds: And again, nobody is disputing this. It doesn’t have any bearing on the subject at hand anyhow, but again is a poor attempt by you to try and make it seem as though ALL Christians don’t deal with others in love. This is a shame to you, not us. Poor exegesis of scripture is NEVER excusable.

TS POSTS: James 4:11 "Brothers, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against his brother or judges him, speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law you are not keeping it. There is only one lawgiver and judge, the one who is able to save and destroy, But you, who are you to judge your neighbor?

Let me repeat that. From God's word.

"There is only one lawgiver and judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you, who are you to judge your neighbor?"

AVL1984 Responds: Again, nobody is disputing these verses. Your reasoning is circular and garbled at best. YOU are the one who brought up the subject of judgment and implied everyone was doing so. Boy, again, I MUST point out that is exactly what you have been doing….Hmmmm…pretty strange, isn’t it?!
There are many different types of judging, TS, as you well know. Do you make any judgments throughout the day? Judgment can in many cases be just an opinion or decision. Hmmm…again…how you going to explain that one away?

TS POSTS: So, yes, AV, I do have tunnel vision. (Emphasis MINE)I do believe it is wrong to ignore scripture after scripture after scripture that tells me only God has the power to judge,

AVL Responds: Yet, you don’t have a hard time judging Pastor Larry or myself. Hmmmm….again…strange!

TS POST CONTINUED: that tells me NOT to judge, that tells me to forgive, that tells me to correct in love, that tells me to love, and say, "Well, God is a God of judgement so I can judge."

    I can't judge people.

AVL Responds: You can’t? Hmmm…seems to me that you have all throughout this thread by lying and saying that others here have said that they can. Me for instance. I never stated such, yet you imputed it to me….Again, you’ve proven yourself to be a liar and a hypocrite.

TS POST CONTINUES: I can go to you and say, "This is what God says is a sin, and this is what God wants to do for you." But Judge you? No. I'm not God, you aren't God. And that is what I'm doing now. I'm telling, God said, it is a sin to judge others.

So I'm telling you people - if you are fooling yourself into thinking YOU have the power or right or authority to judge - you are WRONG.

    AVL Responds: Hmmm…again..you’ve judged…you say we’re wrong…Judgment made… True or not, TS?

TS POSTS: You have the duty to lovingly show a brother what Christ says, but you do NOT have the authority to look down on them.

    We aren't God.
We don't have the right to condemn God's chosen.

We have the duty to TEACH.
    Teaching is NOT judging.
    Teaching is NOT condemning.

AVL Responds: Teaching involves judgment of what is correct or incorrect. Again, you’ve not really got much of a grasp on the English language, do you?
Teaching indeed CAN be judging, and it well can be condemning.

TS POSTS: We are commanded to love.
If we don't love - even the sinner, especially the sinner - we're violating the laws of God.

AVL Responds: Who has said otherwise? Not I, yet you have imputed those statements and actions to me and others here.

TS POSTS: Argue all you want.
Call me a heretic all you want.

AVL Responds: Who here has called you a heretic. Aren’t you being a bit melodramatic and just flat out lying here?

TS POSTS: I have God's word to back me up.

AVL Responds: As long as it is only a few verses or sections of verses that can be easily twisted to fit your warped views of theology.

    TS POSTS: STOP hurting yourselves.
The message, "I have the right to judge," is the same kind of message Satan gave in the garden of Eden. It is trying to imply man has the authority of God.

AVL Responds: …puzzled and wondering how in the world TS got this crock of bull: Mind proving this statement, TS? I don’t see that in the garden of Eden unless you twist it out of context.

TS POSTS: Man is NOT God. (COMMENT BY AVL: Who says that he is? Who has even implied this?)
Man will NEVER be God. (Well, DUH…I think that’s pretty obvious)
Judgment IS GOD'S. (Again, who is disputing this?)

    TS POSTS:Teach in love.
    Or don't teach.

    Correct in love.
    Or don't correct.

AVL responds: I might emphasis the fact that you might want to practice what you preach before you preach it. It would definitely make you more credible.

TS POSTS: Don't assume you're better than anyone else in the world. You're just one more sinner who God forgave.

AVL Responds: And I have never stated otherwise, nor has anyone else.

Oh, so now a rebuke of Granny by Tex...Judgment??? Hmmm...seems like it to me. Also seems like in that post it all revolves around what TEX thinks...no one else...how TEX inteprets it, no one else. The whole world revolves around TEX. Is that right TS? You make excuses for your rude posts, yet ridicule others for theirs.

Let me add here...you say that Christ says that love is the greatest commandment. IT DOESN'T NEGATE THE OTHERS, TS. True or not?

Yes, AV, I do correct, Granny.

And as to what I posted and highlighted, I posted it in text, and highlighted the parts that I think you like to skip over on a daily basis.

As to the repeated, "Dr. Bob reprimanded her," I know of only ONE time that Dr. Bob said I was wrong, and that was when I stated my position badly. In trying to tell people to stop JUST reading Paul and to read the whole bible, Dr. Bob and others thought I meant not to read Paul.

If there are others, by all mean, show me.

Now, where are your scriptures to support your position biblically? Its fun to sit back and try to attack my personally, but where are your scriptures? Where is God in your posting AV?

Granny? Where is God in your mocking posts? Where is scripture in your stances?

    Where is Christain uplifting?

AV - Satan told Adam and Eve that the command from God not to eat a certain fruit was because that fruit would "make them like God," it was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The message was, "You can be like God, you can judge good and you can judge evil."

    Well, we aren't, we can't.

    That's God's call.

I did provide documentation, and told you where to find more documentation. Your statement here is clearly false.

The conversation with Osteen did not include him (even though what I said was documented). This is an ongoing conversation where the proof is readily available (if it is there). Of course, it isn't there. If I had said it, Texas Sky would have cited it.

It shouldn't, not if you remember what was said in that thread.

That is an unfortunate personal attack and it is untrue. I supported everything I said, and told you where to find more information about it. Your attacks then and now are unfounded.
</font>[/QUOTE]Just to make sure, I went back and re-read that whole post on Joel Osteen. From beginning to the end you did not offer one single quote from Joel Osteen to support the accusation that he is a false teacher. The only source that you, or anyone else for that matter, quoted was the Detroit Free Press, which appears to be very much a liberal, anti-religion secular newspaper. In fact, in three pages of that thread I was the only one who provided any direct quotes for JO. So, when you say you provided proof, you are being dishonest. And as I said before, to accuse a preacher of being preaching a false gospel and not backing it up shows a definate lack of integrity.

I'm also glad to learn that it makes a difference with regards to gossip and slander whether you are talking to someone or talking about someone. That's great logic there.

The Detroit Free Press is not against Osteen. The article was very favorable. I provided proof, I told you how to get more. You simply rejected it. That is not my fault. You know it. Where I have accused someone of preaching a false gospel, I have proven it with evidence. The fact that you don't see it is surprising to me. I quite honestly don't know how to respond to it. This is not even questionable stuff. Why is it that people are so eager to praise men who are false teachers and disobedient? Are our congregations really that biblically illiterate?

And I have been involved in no gossip or slander here. You know that too. It is disappointing to see you yet again going down this road. It didn't work for you the first time. It won't work now.

If what you say is true, it's easy enough to prove. paste it here. I stand by what I said - you provided zero proof. Not one single quote from Joel Osteen where he said something false. I'm sure your response will again be to say you provided proof that was rejected. Again, I'll say you are being dishonest.
