(2) Matthew 28:5. . . . women . . . now less Mary M.
(2) Mark 16:5. . . . they . . . now less Mary M.
(2) Luke 24:3. . . . they . . . now less Mary M.

(3) John 20:13. Mary M. does not yet know Jesus is risen.

I have been fascinated that Mary was the only one to understand Jesus would soon die and anointed Him for burial.

While her sister, Martha, ministered to the disciples needs, Mary sat at His feet to learn. Jesus refused to take that from her. Simply unheard of in that time for a woman to learn at the feet of a Rabbi.

peace to you

This is not the Mary M. [Magdalene]
John 12:3, ". . . Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: . . ." [6 days before the Passover.] Also John 12:7, ". . . Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this. . . ."

Not to be confused with, " . . . a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, . . ." Matthew 26:7.
Matthew 26:12, ". . . For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial. . . ." [This was 2 days before the Passover, and this woman is not named.]

Having taught the Bible "chronologically" (3 semester, 9 credit college level course) and later "spatially/geographically" and then "theologically) I was very interested in this. And such fun to do biographical studies on biblical characters.

Ok, your opinion.

Do we know who the woman was that anointed Jesus with the costly perfume. Could it have been Mary Madeline?

Was Mary, the sister of Lazarus and Martha, Mary Madeline? Was Mary Madeline the demon possessed woman healed by Jesus?

peace to you
