Judge: Massachusetts AR-15 ban doesn’t violate 2nd Amendment


U.S. District Judge William Young dismissed a lawsuit challenging the 20-year-old ban, saying assault weapons are military firearms that fall beyond the reach of the constitutional right to “bear arms.”Regulation of the weapons is a matter of policy, not for the courts, he said.


State Attorney General Maura Healey said the ruling “vindicates the right of the people of Massachusetts to protect themselves from these weapons of war.”

This Judge would have ruled the "Brown Bess" single shot flintlock rife an "assault weapon". He is a liberal hack who dismisses the only thing the 2nd Amendment could mean - that the individual citizen has a right to bear a military type rifle to make sure liberty for the people continues against all enemies from within and without.

True enough, but the real problem is that the AR15 is not now , and never has been a military weapon. the judge apparently doesn't know that...or doesn't care.

It's the AR-15 today and tomorrow it will be your scoped deer rifle (sniper rifle) and your pump action shotgun (trench sweeper). The list of "war weapons" will continue to grow until every type of firearm is included.

I guess I am the perpetual pessimist.

The up and coming generation will probably rescind the 2nd Amendment and perhaps the entire Bill of Rights (except the 5th amendment - that will be retained for the marxist comrades).
