I am not sure now who brought up 2 Peter 1:20,
but whomever it was, throughout the posts I
have read here, it may have been misinterpret-
ted. That verse is not about the readers' inter-
pretation of the Bible but about the prophets
and how they did not, themselves, interpret or
invent the writings but how our God, through
the Holy Spirit, told them what to write.
In context:
KJV
(19) We have also more sure words of prophecy:
wherewith ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a
light that shineth in a dark place, until the day
dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
(20) Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the
scripture is of any private interpretation.
(21) For the prophecy came not in old time by
the will of men: but holy men of God spake as
they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
