Matthew 22:30 “…in the resurrection, they are neither given or taken in marriage, but are as the angels in heaven”.
This is one of the few glimpses of heaven we find in scripture. Specifically, does “like the angels” refer only to the issue of marriage?
That does seem to be the context. There will be no marriage, therefore no intimate relations (in the carnal sense).
Can this mean we will be spirit beings, like the angels, in the resurrection? I don’t think so.
From this passage can we also extrapolate that angels cannot procreate? I have heard folks argue the “Nephilium” of Genesis were offsprings of demons and women. I never believed the context support that belief, but doesn’t Matthew 22:30 demonstrate that is impossible?
Thanks for the comments and remember the rules about not being too explicit.
peace to you
