A Topeka employee at the fast food chain has been fired and is currently facing criminal charges after local law enforcement say the worker put mustard in an officer’s beverage.

Tom Dobski, the franchisee owner of the north Topeka McDonald's where the officer found mustard in his Dr. Pepper, says the company is "shocked by the isolated actions of a single employee."

“All customers, including local law enforcement officers who protect and serve our communities, are always welcome at our restaurants,” Dobski said in a statement issued Monday. “We proudly support police officers and all divisions of first responders at our restaurants across northeast Kansas.”

After police complained, Dobski says the company launched an internal investigation immediately. He added that the employee responsible, whom he did not name, no longer works for McDonald’s.

After discussing the incident with the District Attorney's Office, the Topeka Police Dept. say they have decided to open a criminal investigation. They added that Dobski is cooperating with with all queries.

The incident comes just two weeks after a Kansas Highway patrol officer reported similar incident involving mustard in his soda.

Remind me: Why are we considering upping minimum wage to $15? Granted, these are only two reports among the thousands (millions?) of minimum wage workers; but still....

Sounds like the Grey Poupon Gang is at it again. Dining out is getting to be hazardous duty. This could be too much medical marijuana. Yep, those mustard squirting machines are really nasty.

I wonder how many meals are served without such dastardly attacks?

It will probably make the 6:00 news anyway.

Time to wake up--the world is on fire--the sprinklers have no water.

Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Every McDonalds I have ever been to, you are given an empty cup and you fill it yourself at the soda machine. Do they do it different in Kansas?

This whole thing does not pass the "smell test."

Ah hah! Thanks. When I was a Sheriff's Deputy it was a violation of our P&P to go through a drive-through. Too much chance of getting caught in the line behind several cars when you got an emergency call. :)
