One newspaper does a stupid act, yet you blame monolithic "liberals". You lose any credibility when you do this.

Yep, they are stupid and it will backfire, just like the last time it was done. It would be like putting a sign on my door that says "break in this house and I'll shoot you dead.

Then the bad guys will go to someone's house without the sign. Ahh...safe from harm.

It's called the unintended consequences of being stupid.

Well, as usual Revmitchell provides a link to a source with a notorious reputation for ignoring the real facts. Sorry, but after 2012 election coverage, Fox news has no credibility and goes to the garbage pile with Limbaugh, Beck, Drudge, World Net Daily and other extremists.

Interesting.......... :type:

I see that so far, you haven't chosen to reply to my post in this thread.
http://www.baptistboard.com/showthread.php?t=83484 The one where you call those folks liars. Did they lie? Where's your proof that they did? I'll be glad to take a look at your proof, when furnished, in that thread. Reply or not, it's your choice.

Credibility is a two way street.

I have one question, aside from the fact that publishing the names and addresses of gun owners was made legal by provisions in the Freedom of Information Act put in place by the Bush administration under the Patriot Act. Yeah, some of that stuff is going to come back and bite some people in the backside. How do you know that the journalist in question is a "liberal"? Because the clear and simple fact of the matter is that you don't. The guy could be a card carrying NRA member, proudly displaying the addresses of gun owners in his community to scare away robbers, and having half a dozen Romney/Ryan signs in his yard. Westchester County, New York is a rich people's haven, a Republican, conservative paradise.

I did see where someone gave the gun owners an out by fearing that now this list gives criminals the opportunity to break in and steal their guns, in case the statistics will show that owning a gun didn't stop break ins. The NRA has seen to it that criminals no longer need to break in to houses to steal guns, they can just buy them at any gun show or gun dealer.

Not that I expect an answer from you, but what were the standings of these news-sources in your eyes before the election ?

Sorry, I didn't respond. It seemed pointless to continue, and it got boring pretty quickly.

I believe that the accusation that the Obama Administration is conspiring with the UN to take away the guns of Americans is an accusation YOU support. Therefore, the burden of proof of providing credible evidence is on YOU, not me. I'm merely stating that the sources which push this information are known liars, and known to be completely and totally inaccurate when it comes to reporting facts, as their recent election predictions prove. That's really all I need, though there are dozens of places where you can go to find out the long list of errors made.

Looks like Jack is.

Evidently Old Timer it got boring for Jack when you provided credible evidence that Obama and the UN are on the same page when it comes to disarming Americans.

There was no credible evidence provided. Speculation from right wing extremists, yes, credible evidence no, and so I got bored. Happens in this forum quite frequently. You're welcome to your fantasyland.

Jack, you are just too two-faced. In other threads you whine that there's too many guns around, and even make fun of people who own them. You have been clear about taking guns away from people.

And here, you make fun of people who may be concerned that there are forces out there operating in stealth to undermine the 2nd ammendment.

Kinda silly.

Go back to sleep.

The willfully ignorant are easily bored. Anytime they are faced with credible evidence that contradicts the party line, they suddenly get bored.

That's you. It's the same disease most liberals have. You're no different, just a little more vocal about your ignorance.

Apparently it was pointless to continue, as the United Nations itself gave "credible evidence" that what you said in your post was in error. I didn't rely on any of the sources that you consider to be "liars".

I'm not looking for errors, that you choose to label as lies, others may have made. I'm looking at an error that YOU made, that YOU haven't been willing or able to counter the "credible evidence" provided. After all, this is a debate forum.

I suppose this post is boring, as well. That's OK. Please feel free to :sleeping_2: if you like. :flower:

A local New York newspaper is drawing the ire of its readers after publishing an interactive map that shows the names and addresses of thousands of residents who have handgun permits.

The online map was published by The Journal News along with an article under the headline: "The gun owner next door: What you don't know about the weapons in your neighborhood."

The newspaper obtained, and then published, the names and addresses of pistol permit holders in Westchester and Rockland counties through a Freedom of Information Act request.

The article, in explaining the decision to publish the information, pointed to the school massacre in nearby Newtown, Conn., and the concerns of some residents about which of their neighbors might have firearms.

But readers swiftly condemned the move. They pointed out that the interactive map could make the gun owners a target, but also make clear to would-be robbers which homes do not contain a gun.

Armed Guards Posted at Paper That Reported Gun Owners' Info

A suburban New York newspaper that unleashed a public outcry after it published the names and addresses of Westchester and Rockland residents with pistol permits is being protected by armed guards.

Newspaper publisher Janet Hasson says the guards have been posted at its White Plains headquarters and in a satellite office in West Nyack since last week.

She told The New York Times, "The safety of my staff is my top priority."

But the safety of individuals in their homes is not. This is the mind of a liberal. No rhyme or reason just emotion and thoughtless reaction.

Rev, the mind of the liberal is just collectivism in action. To collectivists the individual must be sacrificed for the greater good.
