Social democracy is all about rewarding people justly for their labor and mitigating the capitalist exploitation of workers.

We need to have a much more reasonable distribution of income and power in this country.

The only way to do this is if the government takes over business. It will not and cannot work otherwise. And that is unAmerican and will never happen in this country. No one is going to take the risk of starting and owning the very businesses you want to destroy with this Marxist business model.

My favorite (political) quote:

"The problem with socialism is that sooner or later you run out of other peoples money."

Margaret Thatcher

The problem, as I see it, with ANY economic/political system or model, no matter how well intentioned, is that it is plagued with the vagaries of human greed. Greed for wealth, greed for power, greed for status and position. History, I think quite clearly teaches us that all such systems, no matter how noble in principle, do in fact tend to fail due to corruption. It is the natural order of entropy at work. All of creation is principally entropic.

And who decides this?

In your perfect world what is the just reward for a doctor and a garbage collector?

The same?

Is one worth more than the other?

A large death tax would be a start. Say for estates over 10 million.

How about only allowing a proportionate number of attorney's to be legislators?

Bill, I am a bit ambivalent about the death tax thingy, in theory, it might serve prevent concentration of wealth a bit, but my guess is the wealthy would find a way to prevent it from occurring.

I still think our capitalist economic system is the best thing going from all I am aware of.
