Is there any more recent studies on the chronologoical and identity problems of the Medo-Persian kings in Daniel, Ezra and Nehemiah?

While I'm not entirely positive that you will find exactly the information for which you are looking, if you follow the link(s) under the heading of World History Lectures at this website, you may find at least some of it at the following website:

Thanks, but they provided nothing but a summary paragraph.

A couple items to keep in mind when aligning Israel and Judah Kings with history.

1) be watchful of the overlapping. That is the son of a king would start ruling before the father would die - so coronation and deaths didn't always coincide.

2) there are basically two general dating schemes, both are accurate but come down to a disagreement over a single year. I won't get into it all on this thread but HERE is a pretty good reading to give a quick overview between the work of Thiele and that of Strand that is useful in beginning to get into some of the particulars. The dating game begins about half way through under a bold title.

3) ultimately, "dates" don't matter. Everything that is important happened from the start of October, 1492. :)
