Melchizedek/Melchisedec

Question:
I have read a couple of thoughts on the identity of Melchizedek/Melchisedec (Gen., Psalms, and Heb.)
1st: that he was considered a prototype of Christ.
2nd: that he was Jesus Christ in human form before His incarnation.
Which one do you think is correct?

I think he was one of many "Christophanies" (manifestations of the Son) during the OT, prior to coming incarnate.

Sometimes these are called "theophanies", but in most cases it is the Son who appears temporarily in a body for a short time and purpose.

Abraham talked to him; Joshua met him outside Jericho.

Notice that Melchizedek was a king and a priest; Jesus is a Piest after the order of Melchizedec, then we come to David who was a king ; Jesus is a King through the linage of David. (earthy speaking that is.) And then we come to Jesus the Christ who is the only one to obtain all three titles: King, Priest, And Prophet.

So I believe Melchizedek was a type of Christ.
