Thanks Saggy! I, too, have a couple more nominations to throw out for you:

Don - he's definitely one of the true Baptist on this board. He's insightful, patient, and very to the point.

Daughter - She doesn't post a lot, but all she has to say is charitable and pertinent and she can cause a complete paradigm shift in any topic in which she becomes involved.

My first nomination for the year goes to Mr. Sherlock Kritzer...er...Clint Kritzer.

For the time he spends helping out on the board.

    The name's Kritzer. Clint Kritzer.

What a great guy. He's just a good ole boy, never meanin no harm. Beats all you ever saw been in trouble with the lawless since the day he was born. Makin his way, the only way he knows. That's just a little bit more than the lawless will allow.

I nominate Clint with this little ditty in his honor.

    Joseph Botwinick :D

My first nomination goes out to Barnabas! :D He posts with compassion and kindness. His writings continue to give the glory to and focus on the Lord.

Oopps, almost forgot,....I would also like to nominate Clint Kritzer :D . As a fairly new christian, I have many questions and he has answered them while not making me feel like it was a stupid/silly question. He also provides the scriptual backup for his answer that I can refer to during my study of the bible.

    God bless,

    Next round of nominations:

    4. Brother Glen - his intellagence, wit, an humor make him a great teacher. I always enjoy reading his posts.

    5. Don - I see Rock Hard belief every time he posts.

    6. Kathy - Her posts are always a joy to read, I can see her spirit shine thorugh in every one.

 Its only April and I have already used 6 of my 10 votes. We better not get any new members in December who deserve a nomination cause I'll be out of votes by then.

Wow. Talk about unexpected. I appreciate the nominations of the few who have thrown out my name, but I don't personally think I embody the beliefs and ideals of the Baptist Board. Thanks!

My nominations, based on the original criteria:

    Barnabas
    Clint

Definitely also on my "top ten" list:
    Lorelei
    Chet
    Swaimj
    Dr. Cassidy
    Dr. Bob
    Helen
    da Gina
    redwhitenblue
    tyndale
    pastor larry
and a whole lot of others whose names are escaping me at the moment....

(OK, that's more than ten, but I think y'all get the picture)

Good list, Don, but I'm not in the running. Will sit back and grow a beard like AlGore instead. If I were you, I would withhold the vote, however, until fall just to be sure that the list of characters doesn't grow with new additions, or someone might apostasize and you would be voting for the antichrist.

Some on that list are highly suspect of the latter . . .

Webmaster....are we giving nominations that will later be voted on or are we acutally casting our votes? I thing it might be a good idea for them to be nominations, then possibly the last week of December you could post a poll listing the 10 members who got the most nominations. We could then vote for the member of the year from that group.

My second nomination for the year goes to...

    ...drum roll...

    tyndale1946

I nominate tyndale for his ability to share a wealth of knowledge of the Bible and solid Christian doctrine with a charitable attitude and a good sense of humor.

    Vote #5:

    Katie

I really appreciate her (sometimes brutal) honesty, her marked Spiritual growth and immersion into the WORD since we first met, and the way she can so quickly humble herself. Katie, to me, is a good example of what a Christian should be.

    1. Barnabas. He is always a gentleman, even when disagreeing with people. He's a great example and probably one of the few people on the internet that I will take seriously, personally, and will always have respect for.

    2. rlvaughn. For his knowledge, kindness, and, because he likes me! :D

    3. Helen. She's real. Unlike a lot of people who have the same amount of knowledge, she isn't a snob about it. She just uses it to help other people. [IMG]

    4. cjoshuav. Don't know how to spell the displayed name he uses now, lol. The main purpose of the board is to bring together all baptists and learn about our similarities and differences. I have to admit, that no matter how violently I may disagree with his thoughts, he has hung in there and always responded with class, and I admire that in a person.

    5. Mr. Curtis. Honest, and very, umm, straightforward. [IMG] You don't have to second guess or re-read his posts to try to figure out what he REALLY thinks!

    6. Larry. "CAUSE I SAID SO! [IMG]

    7. Bible Believing Bill. He just really seems like a decent, honest Christian, and there's just something about his style that appeals.

    8. tynedale. Great sense of humor, knows what he believes, and it's always a source of entertainment to imagine his reactions to what people post. :D

    9. Brother Adam. I don't think enough people recognize how rare it is to come across someone his age that's as grounded in the word as he is. He doesn't let popular opinion or hard times change his stance, and lately I've noticed that he really seems to be achieving a, hmm, I don't know how to say it right, but he's putting that stubborness to use in good ways lately. [IMG]

Oh no. I only have one left! :(

    10. EagleLives911. Very interesting, and I think there's a lot more to her than comes across on the board. I'd love to just sit and talk to her in person sometime and get her thoughts and ideas on all kinds of issues.

Whew. I was going to wait until the end of the year, but...well, I just didn't, so there. :p
There's many more that I could have voted for, but I think ten was a good number to give us to choose from.
I do miss John Wells, and Chris Temple is always a favorite, and Ernie B., and so many others!

Okay, time for my third nomination for the year:

This nomination is for a person that shows humilaty in the face of great adversity. Rev. Joshua Villines holds to some points in Christian doctrine that are vastly different then many of the Baptists here. He has been repremanded, and sometimes unjustly accused, but through it all has held strongly to his doctrine of soul liberty, and the ability to interpert the scriptures as God has lead him. Though we disagree on much, his attitude has been exampliary of what should be expected of Christians, and thus he gets this nomination.

Well, Gina, thanks for your kind comments. I think I am blushing. Maybe some day we will get to meet, if not in this life, surely in the next. (And we can remember all our discussions on the Baptist Board! Won't it be neat to meet everyone in person?) [IMG]

There are so many great people here, and I must admit I don't spend enough time on this forum to be familiar with all of them.

But I have to nominate, as I did last time, Barnabas. What a wonderful Christian gentleman, truly living up to the meaning of his name as an encourager! [IMG]

I also nominate Clint Kritzer and Margie Kritzer ...I have been so impressed with their wonderful spirits.

And SaggyWoman ...what a discussion-generator you are! [IMG]

Then there's Chris Temple... brilliant and articulate sum him up.

Smoke-Eater is smart, funny, fascinating,a great writer...I get the feeling I could talk with him for hours if I knew him.

And of course, Helen ...what a lady! Intelligent, insightful and spiritual.

I'm sure I'll think of 10 more as soon as I log off, but those immediately come to mind.
