#8 DA GINA

In the past I might have nominated Gina because she is the class clown and can always make me laugh. However, now I nominate her because her posts in the last few months have shown me alot about what it means to be a Christian.

OK, I'll put in my $0.02.

For starters:

1. Aaron, his posts are backed up with solid information and good thinking.

2,3. SwaimJ and Gina, their posts are relevant, logical, substantive, and to the point.

Lots of others come to mind but I'll think on it for awhile before using up the rest of my picks.

 

I've been carefully consdering all the possibilities of who should be member of the year....and I have come with a few people that I know, at least I believe, are great candidates!

And here they are:

1. Abiyah: I have not read many posts of hers that weren't uplifting, or ones that weren't trying to encourage or hurt another person no matter what subject we were discussing!

2. Chrys: Throughout this year, in each post I've read, I've been blessed, whether it was through thinking, laughter, or her willingness to stand when she saw something as wrong, even when no one would back her.

3. Rev. Joshua Villines (sorry, I'm pretty sure I speeled that wrong! ) Another one who has taking lashing for standing up for the way he views things....I know I don't often agree with you Rev., but you do bless me by your testimony of standing by what you believe! Thanks for the encouragment!

4. WisdomSeeker: She's never one to jump on someone without knowing the entire story, her humor brightens the day and her forgiveness should be an example to us all! Thanks for your wisdom WisdomSeeker!

5. Bible Believing Bill: I remember your early days and how zealous you were in learning. That zealousness is still there. When I read your posts I'm convicted because I know that I should posess the same excitement about life in Christ that you do. I also have yet to read one of your posts that hasn't been uplifting, full of wisdom and Christ's love shining through!

With the year 3/4 over now, and watching and working here that whole time here 'up front' as well as 'behind the scenes' as a moderator, what I have seen is that there are two men who basically hold this place together: Clint and Barnabas.

However, Clint could not do what he is doing if it were not for the constant support and understanding of his lovely wife, Margie, who came on to help me out in the women's forums, partly because my life gets so crazy!

Since, in marriage, the two become one, here are my first two nominations:

1. Clint-Margie
2. Barnabas

The next two are women who have struck me as quite remarkable. Both have common sense which is not common; both have an incisive way of dealing with issues. Gina makes me laugh so often with the way she can put a spin on events she has to deal with in her life that I always feel sort of uplifted and smiling when I read a lot of her stuff. Lorelei is so quiet people don't often notice her, but when she posts it's straight, it's true, and it's to the point. So here are three and four.

The next two are also women. Neither is able to spend the time here I wish they could, but that's because they have their priorities in order in their own lives! Their examples are good for all us women as a result. When Scarlett posts, I can figure "great, now I don't have to worry about responding to that one" because I know she is always clear, biblical, and states her points well. The other is KeeperofmyHome, who used to be a moderator until it just didn't work with her own home schedule and she was gracious enough to retire herself rather than short us here. But I'm awfully glad she came back as a regular member and would like to recognize her work here with a nomination.

the other four will probably be guys -- but there are SO MANY handsome dudes to choose from!

I've been a member for only a few weeks, but I've been coming here to read for quite a while.

* Is it too late to nominate DocCas ? If not, here's one. He is a very sharp man.
* Ericb , because he has been very honest and well mannered in the Versions dept., and does not subscribe to far-fetched thinking.
* Helen , because she always has something to contribute, not just something to say.
* Abiyah , because she has a good turn to all her posts.

These are all people with whom i would (probably!) enjoy having discussions with in person.

 

Another name I have is Sherrie. She has a wonderful sense of humor, and a strong love for the Lord and His people.

 

My first 7 names are:

1.) Helen Clearly she is one who understands what the Scripture teaches and is willing to give much of her time and devotion to this board. Especially on topics that carry a more passionate audience, she is wonderful. Thank you Helen for sharing all your knowledge and understanding of the Scripture. A true scientist. I have learned a great deal from you.

2. Lorelei She is one of the most intelligent people on this board. I am constantly amazed at her ability to give answers to those who oppose her. She is an excellent thinker. I covet her mind. I am edified by her post and learn from them. It is very obvious that she is devoted to the truth and the pursuit to find it, as well as defend it. She has been an encourgment to me to study more and look at passages closer.

3. swaimj. He is very good thinker and I rarely read a post that I disagree with from him. Obvious dedication to the truth.

4. katie I love her post, very edifying. When she says something I make a point to read it. Rarely will I disagree with her. Thanks for your post katie.

5. Barnabas is an ambassador for Christ. He certainly exhibits true Christian love. Never a mean spirited post. I can't imagine the BB without this man.

6. DHK An excellent asset to the discussions on this board, especially to those who oppose biblical truth.

7. ChristianCynic I like the way he makes his points. By making people think about their statements, and he has a good sense of humor.
