Member of the Year Nominations (2003)

I scanned through the names nominated in 2002 and several are people I've never even see post.

I'd like to nominate Charlotte.

 

1. C.S. Murphy - He should get it because he is a person with an ability to follow discussions and put just the right amount of insight into them. His moderator skills are beyond words. No one has ever caught him being unfair either. If I could vote for him 10 times I would.

The rest in no particular order:
2. Scott J (for being my hero).
3. Pastor Larry (for being such an intelligent fundamentalist)
4. Pete Richert (for understanding the means-of-salvation view and agreeing with me and my apprentice Dr. Schreiner )
5. Dr. Bob Griffin (for his excellent reformed/dispy/sarcastic takes)
6. Aaron (for the ability to discern proper music)
7. TomVols (for his strong anti-liberalism/kjvo position)
8. Bobby Bowden (for coaching the best football team)
9. Iraqi Minister of Information (for providing the most new jokes to America since the whole Blonde series)
10. Seigfried (for coming and going as he pleases and staying as long as he wants and being my tag-team partner for so long)

Most everyone I would nominate have already been nominated but I would like to nominate one beautiful hearted lady-- I am blessed 16 -- to Sue she is such an inspiration and I look forward to reading her posts everyday! God Bless You Sue!

 

I don't think either of these guys are Baptist Board members. Plus I question your choice for 9). All those new jokes means an endless supply of forwards in my email--UUUGH

I'd like to nominate the Harvest. People might not agree with everything he says (not even I agree with everything!), but he's a really strong believer in the Bible, and stands up for fundamentalism and against liberalism in different forums of the board (even though he usually seems to be in the minority). Also, he works for the US airforce, and hasn't posted since the beginnning of the Iraq war. I don't even know if he's still alive, but for service to his country as well as BB, I nominate the Harvest!

Diane, you crack me up. Now I've got the picture of that donkey in my head.

But to be fair...a person can't say "pick me, pick me" for this. People don't nominate themselves for this award. A person's actions will testify for them, and it is just graciously acknowledged by the rest of us.

I think Helen won last year and Barnabas won the year before that? Correct me someone if I got it wrong. And I doubt anyone would accuse either of them of being like that donkey in the Shrek cartoon. It's usually the humblest, most edifying, thought provoking, even tempered, and knowledgeable members that win this award. (But I get the point you're trying to make)

P.S. Diane, there is a prayer request in the prayer forum for a little girl in which I think your grandson may have had a similar problem. Just thought I would let you know in case you wanted to comment on it. I know what a powerful prayer warrior you are, and hope you will offer up a prayer for this little girl.
