Oops! To my shame, Pauline's post reminded me that I forgot to say thanks to the administrators and others who keep this board running.
Thanks.

[Curious and concerned as to why this is the case. I have been a member almost 15 months and have seen a number of phases and changes. Is this too heavy a load for you re: time and/or finances? I would not expect this board to be anything other than a work-in-progress with possibly more changes as it goes along.
I do appreciate all the work you have put into this, and it is a valuable experience for me and probably for most others. I simply do not interact in real life with all of the types of Baptists there are on this board. It has been a real challenge to my thinking and writing skills, as well as in getting along with invisible people that disagree with me. It also has been a place where inquirers and questioners can learn about the Gospel.]
......We’d like to hear from the majority of the 1,800 members regarding these issues. Please take a moment and reply now.
Your input in the following areas would be much appreciated:
1.) Who should be allowed to post on Baptist Board? (Baptists only, Baptists and other “friendly” born-again believers, everybody, etc.)
[It is your board. I like the set-up as it is, though. It is not, though, the only possible way that a board can be successful.]
2.) Should every member be allowed to post everywhere? Or is the current “Baptist-only” and “Free-for-All” limitation a good solution? [See answer to 1.]
3.) How can the webmaster/administrators determine who is Baptist is who is not?
[You really can't on a practical basis, but it does show up.]
4.) Should the registration process be modified so that everyone would need to provide the name of his/her church – or would that mean a loss of privacy?
[No, it should not be modified. If you want to give all sorts of identifying information about yourself, that is your business. I believe in internet safety. Millions of people have theoretical access to this board.
Caution is prudent.]
5.) How should the board be moderated? Would an unmoderated board make more sense? How should the moderators change?
[You have a good group of moderators and administrators. However, perhaps there should be a pair of moderators in some forums. I think that there has been at times a significant amount of arbitrary, inconsistent behaviour by some of them. And there is little trace now, because most of those threads have been erased. Other than editing for some real obvious things such as bad language, I do not think that one moderator, without warning, at his sole discretion, should be able to delete things. There should be an appeals process. This was alluded to by some members in a thread that was locked down very quickly.
6.) Is it time for “lights out” because the idea of a civil and constructive Baptist discussion board is not achievable?
[No. It has obviously been achieved on this board. I hope it continues. I also agree with others that the word "heretic" is a word to be avoided.
If you really meant Independent Fundamental Baptist Board instead of Baptist Board, just look at the posts and you will see that it would be hard to define that, too.]
Thank you very much,
Karen
