I am only called Christian by my enemies. The rest excuse me as being a Baptist.

Cheers,

Is this a matter of relevance today?

I had long hair when I was young. Today, however, the rule for the boys in our house is that once you turn eighteen and move out, you can grow your hair as long as you want it but as long as you live here, it's going to be short (and God help you if you come home with an earring).

Well, some interesting comments here. I've had many a discussion with my church leader about it. There are far more important subjects, I'm sure.

I don't consider hair length a moral issue. Is God going to send a man to hell because he has long hair, and, again, what is long?

Hmmm, believe Jesus had long hair.

Also, it depends on what culture you are in as to how men's hair is viewed.

Also, didn't John the Baptist have long hair?

If you compare scripture against scripture, Christ could not have had long hair. And no "culture" caveat is found in scripture, so we shouldn't be adding one. Third, J the B also wore camel's hair & ate things that would make most men wretch. Scripture tells us he was a Nazarite, and they were the only men in the bible allowed to have long hair.

Scripture tells us he was a Nazarite, and they were the only men in the bible allowed to have long hair.

"Allowed" to have long hair? Where do you read that? And if long hair means several feet of hair, which would be the case for a man who was never to cut his hair, then a man with hair to his shoulders would be considered to have short hair.
