This is a lie!
Before you make a false accusation, consider the "literal" interpretation for the following:

“The man who hates and divorces his wife”, says the Lord, the God of Israel, “does violence to the one he should protect,” says the Lord Almighty. So be on your guard, and do not be unfaithful. (Malachi 2:16

Anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery. (Matthew 5: 31-32)

And the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate. (Mark 10:8-9)

Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her (Mark 10:11)

Each one of you must love his wife as he loves himself (Ephesians 5:33)

Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. (Hebrews 13:4)

All things are lawful, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful, but not all things edify. Let no one seek his own good, but that of his neighbor. (1 Corinthians 10:23-24)

"But I pointed him to scripture, but since he does not interpret it literally we could not dialogue for long. "

You should run from this "church", not even walk. He is a false teacher, doing the bidding of the devil. All those works are exactly what you see in Matt 7:22-23.

The best post of this thread.

Dialogued with a pastor of a church that feeds the homeless, attracts new people to his church, has programs for the poor, and runs an effective ministry. In the eyes of many on this board this pastor is an effective evangelist. But hear the catch. He denies that Hell is real, believes everyone is saved, would rather follow what Jesus did, than to worship Jesus, and when I questioned his views he pointed me to his ordination, his 40K he had to spend in biblical studies to get his Mdiv, and everything but the scripture. But I pointed him to scripture, but since he does not interpret it literally we could not dialogue for long.

This pastor easily attracts people to his church and does lots to help the poor. Its a shame many on this board consider this style of evangelism effective.

You are describing modern Churches in America, fill the pulpits, dam the truth.

How many Churches, or how many of you go to Churches that have Church Discipline? You shack up with a girl, unmarried, do they kick you out with the hopes of repentance, "Turn you over to Satan"? It's how our Churches are supposed to be.

One of the saddest things I know, here in Orange County, a Reformed Church, I mean ROCK SOLID, Hymns, Church Discipline, the pastor is awesome, well he has about 9 of us attending. Drive down to the "Purpose Driven Church" and it's like Disneyland, starving homeless people, and that Church is Disneyland, filled to the brim with "Good Christians doing their duty", "Going in to get a uplifting message".

I go to two Churches, both are awesome, the other one, a kid really, 30 years old but doctorate in Theology, he preaches, hammers the crowd on Hebrews 12, "IF YOU SUFFER NOT YOU ARE ILLEGITIMATE AND NOT A SON".

I FIRMLY BELIEVE that we, America has ALREADY been judged, people think judgement is destruction, or financial loss, but I think we have been "Turned over to the lusts of our flesh" as in Romans 1, think our country CELEBRATES [HOMOSEXUALITY] [edited], how perverted are we?

So I think Christianity is dead, and the Lord is coming back very soon, do you see people getting saved? Look how many Arminians we still have on this forum, all of this light, millions of verses but they believe what THEY WANT TO BELIEVE, so I just think we're done, we're illiterate when it comes to scripture, and we're worldly. I've had guys attack me on here who are no different than wicked men of the world. So yeah what you wrote doesn't surpise me

Our church does and has removed staff and members alike when there is unrepentant sin and not even just sexual sin.

I go to two Churches, both are awesome, the other one, a kid really, 30 years old but doctorate in Theology, he preaches, hammers the crowd on Hebrews 12, "IF YOU SUFFER NOT YOU ARE ILLEGITIMATE AND NOT A SON".

I will disagree with this because I don't think we need to be in a constant state of suffering in order to think that we are following God. There are times that things are going great and times that things are going well and I don't think that one or the other reflects our relationship with the Lord.

So I think Christianity is dead

I will disagree because I see lives being changed by God and I see vibrant churches reaching people in a dying world. Christianity will never be dead.

do you see people getting saved?

Yep!

I've had guys attack me on here who are no different than wicked men of the world.

Let's be very careful about how we describe those here on the board because questioning the salvation of those here is against the rules that you agreed to and I think this is pushing the line a bit.

Christianity is dead? Contrary to reports the demise of Christianity is greatly exaggerated. Jesus said He would build His church and God is far more powerful that the enemies of the church both within and without.
