I was wondering what the basis for the hard line "no divorced students" stance? I realize there is a debate in SBC circles about whether divorced men can be pastors, but no other SBC seminary (Big Six, Liberty, Luther Rice) has such a rule, (They may ask you to explain the circumstances.) If it wasn't for that, MABTS would be at the top of my list of schools.

Went to MABTS. Would not recommend it

I probably will never go to online seminaries again, just curious on your take for MABTS. The one thing I would have had a hard time with is the witnessing requirements; one of my unfortunate weaknesses.
The wtinessing thing is major disappointment. They are no beards, neck tie is a must, chapel is a must etc etc. very fundamentalistic
One of the good profs there is a great friend who says that if the 1920s ever happen again, MABTS is ready
They show a lack of grace in almost everything (I was the 86-89).
They hate and I do mean hate calvinist or at least did; however, the wilder the missions story or evangelism story the better
I really needed MABTS when I went there, am glad I went, but there are other better options now

PS. I know of many whom MABTS ruined strictly because of the witnessing issue. Some felt forced to lie, others lied, some flunked out because of it
Perhaps it is just me, but are you sure that (according to another post) witnessing to one person a week is problematic?
Seriously? In just walking to class you didn't pass someone that the message of Christ could not be shared?
I suppose I'm wondering if there were not more to this rule that what was communicated on the thread and I missed it.

There are many that feel forced to fabricate results and I know that some probably did so. I also saw them ruin a few men as well
The witnessing stories were something else during report hour on Tuesdays.
People claiming that they saw something like 200 conversions and 150 conversions and asking for forgiveness that they did not do more for more results. This as a result of ahowing the movie The Burning Hell. This was from 1986-90.
According to the MABTS Numbers over 200,000 people in Mempho have prayed to receive Jesus. So Mempho is in revival, but crime stats and church attendance does not reflect this “revival”.
MABTS sets a very low bar for “conversions” IMO.
