The Apostle Paul wrote the Corinthian church saying, ". . . And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, [even] as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able [to bear it], neither yet now are ye able. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas [there is] among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? . . ." -- 1 Corinthians 3:1-3.

Now the writer to the Hebrews wrote, ". . . For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which [be] the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. . . ." -- Hebrews 5:12.

Now the following is a short and brief outline of the milk of the word (based on Hebrews 6:1-2).

* The principles of the doctrine of Christ. 2 John 1:9.
* The foundation of repentance from dead works. Ephesians 2:8-9.
* Of faith toward God, Hebrews 11:6.
* Of the doctrine of baptisms. Matthew 3:11-12
* Of laying on of hands. Acts 6:1-6.
* Of resurrection of the dead. 1 Corinthians 15:13.
* Of eternal judgment. Revelation 20:11-15.

Also presumably the "meat" perhaps would be sanctification, walking in the Spirit, producing the fruit of the Spirit, things to come...

I gave the most probable definition of the "milk" - that which brought us into the kingdom of God at our birth - the gospel message.

Most of the well seasoned brethren on here have weaned themselves from the milk of the word and have their teeth fully in the word of God... Some brethren are Prime Rib but I'm Filet Mignon... Brother Glen

Says that is impossible. But says nothing about being saved.

It is clear this is a warning and therefore implies it is possible, otherwise why state it ? No word of scripture is written in vain.
