I bet it can be difficult to get believers to stay where they are most effective for God, instead of dreaming up a vision of a call to the "Walmart in the sky" . . .Originally posted by MikeinGhana:

I think the idea of church folks writing to one another is a good one. I do not think it will satisfy those who desire to get to America. Most of our people would love to travel abroad. Most never will. Most do not covet it in a wrong sense. Many do however. With all that said, what do we do with those whose desire to get there interferes with their spiritual walk with God?
Wonderful! Wet feet are a good thing in a missionary.Originally posted by bapmom:
We are looking forward to it very much!
Oh! I almost forgot, but we just made plans today to go to a Candidate School in March. This doesn't mean we will be going on deputation right away, but we will be checking it out and getting our feet wet, so to speak.
And if you believe that, I have a piece of land down in the Ginza in Tokyo that I can let you have for just 1000 yen!Originally posted by El_Guero:
Ah shucks! Bapmom just write them in Japanese . . . that is SOOOOO much easier than translating![]()
I am no longer a children's missionary, but a local IFB church Pastor. However, we do place emphasis on our Youth, and simply need help to evangelize and to disciple. I'm praying for a young man to come as a Youth Pastor, but we can't afford to pay him...(we have a 21 y/o in our church who I'm praying catches the vision for this, he already helps with our Youth Group, praise God).Originally posted by bapmom:
Pastor Kevin R,
may I ask what sort of ministry you do among the children there? What ages?
Is this in a church situation? a mission? or something else?
What would we be sending our kids to do....is it a camp style ministry?
