Thanks, I knew better. What I should have written is that the law could not have passed without GOP votes although the Dems controlled Congress. The GOP thought that the bill was sloppily written but voted for it anyway in enough numbers so that it could pass. After it passed, it was used for all kinds of things other than black rights, which was what the GOP disliked about the way it was written. The Dems never keep their promises. Maybe you recall, Ken, that the poll tax was abolished sometime during this era. I recall that Texas required a poll tax receipt before you could vote when I lived there and I paid it myself once or twice. As I said before both Texas and Arkansas had segregation in the 1960s.
They still had segregation in Dover, Delaware in the 60’s when I moved there from New York. Blacks were only allowed in the balcony of the movie theater in the state capital. Was Delaware a racist southern state run by Repubs?

This gets more absurd by the post! I just get your name with a blank space under it when I click on your link.

Can we stop the comedy and return to some serious discussion please: no more of this nonsense about "left wing Nazis".

It probably was taking a little too long to cross the pond--the link works if you give a little extra time. I had the same problem the first time.

The blank space is a link to the Facebook posting of this Prager U video. My link is to the YouTube video. FWIW, to me they're all versions of totalitarian statism. We'll stop the nonsense when you stop classifying anyone to the right of Tony Blair as a Nazi.

When I do, please let me know: I don't for example classify David Cameron or Theresa May as fascists, nor indeed any member of the present government, even though all are to the right of Blair, some considerably so; they are conservative but not fascist.

ETA: I can't open the link as we are vacationing in France in an area without WiFi but FWIW I agree with you on the totalitarianism point....but not all authoritarian or totalitarian governments are left wing: Pinochet and Franco for example were both totalitarian and authoritarian but you would be hard pressed to find a less left wing government than theirs

Peron in Argentina was a fascist and advocated state control of everything. His follower Pope Francis advocates Liberation Theology, a form of communism.

Since you avoided dealing with anything mentioned in the video the answer is no. You have not proven the right are fascists and I have given clear evidence that Nazi's are on the left wing of politics.

Sadly, that compass does not recognized the value of a Christianized society, which can be lost in one generation.

As I have said, I can't view your video but, even if I could, one video is one opinion and does not constitute evidence, particularly if it peddling the ludicrous lie that the Nazis were leftists. For the record, I will ignore posts that propagate this false revisionist and absurd far right propaganda. I will engage with sensible posts but not ones that have waaaay lost the plot
