Hmm. My question is: since Christ didn't write any of the NT, doesn't this argument fall apart? Also- are the gospels MORE inspired than the epistles? This valuing of one set of books over another is inconsistant. If God inspired the entire NT, the whole thing should be profitable for doctrine, reproof etc. I find Pauls words in his epistles of EQUAL weight as Christ's words in the gospel because ultimately they are all inspired of God. One set of books can't be MORE inspired than another.

Can you prove that Jesus didn't write some of the New Testament?

Would you be so bold as to declare that Matthew, Mark, John and Luke's writing about the events and comings and goings of the Christ is not Jesus writing the New Testament? Who what that they wrote about? Who performed all those Miracles? Who?

Would you be so bold as to declare that the new testament is not God Breathed?

Would you be so bold as to declare that Jesus is NOT God the Son?

There is NO evidence Christ wrote any of the NT unless you take into account the fact that he (as God in human flesh) was the word and inspired the NT. As for Christ physically writing the NT, give me proof that this occurred and I'll believe.

Does the object of the story not write the story? Afterall there would be no story without the object regardless of who puts the words on paper.

So, if I write a book about Joe Shmoe's actions in WWII, Joe Shmoe actually wrote the book and not me?

Brother Wes, though I am not a calvinist your post here does worry me a bit. We need to remember that St. Paul's writings are also scripture as the apostle Peter acknowledged when he wrote, "even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 16As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures (2 Pet 3:15-16)

Notice in these verses Peter confirmed Paul's writings as being scripture. Further, Paul tells us that " All scripture is given by inspiration of God , and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" ( 2 Tim 3:16).

While all the Bible is for us, the post New Testament Gentile Christian should give a more earnest read to the epistles from Paul. Why? Because Paul's epistles were the only ones written to gentiles (i.e. non Jews). Thus this part of the Bible is not only for us, but to us and about us. Remember, Jesus himself said of St. Paul "15.. Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel" (Acts 9:15)

    God Bless,

    Brother Joe
