For all you really rich guys/gals on the BB this is good news for your. For us average folk ... well it is not good news.

Mitt Romney’s tax plan would provide large tax cuts to wealthy Americans and hike taxes on middle- and low-income households, according to an analysis by The Brookings Institution .

The report published Wednesday estimated households with incomes over $1 million would receive average tax cuts of $87,117 under Romney’s plan, while those earning $200,000 or less would pay higher taxes.

Brookings analysts concluded Romney’s plan favors high earners “even when we bias our assumptions about which and whose tax expenditures are reduced to make the resulting tax system as progressive as possible.”

How does a millionaire getting a tax cut hurt me? Seems like it might free up more money for him to put in his businesses.

Wow, no wonder we middle-class are in trouble if many of us folk do not know the answer to that question. You really think they use their salary to create jobs?

And what does the government do with tax money besides spend more than they take in...

And funnel it through companies that pass a portion of it back to Obama as political contributions.

Bolded mine

You gotta be kiddin':BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Makes no difference what he does with his money - unless he puts it in a mason jar and buries it - it's gonna create jobs; just maybe not in a business he controls. What do you think happens to the money the rich spend? (Clue - it's creating a job for somebody!)

To paraphrase your statement - "Wow, no wonder this economy is screwed up when so many don't understand the flow of money."

I must call attention to my sig line after a topic such as this.

I am not sure what crowd you run with, but I don't know of anyone who sees the average guy making 200,000 dollars a year. Personally I am in favor of a flat percentage rate tax the same for everyone with no deductions.

No doubt CTB, I am not as well off as you, and I cannot follow your logic. Jobs are created in the free market. The source of jobs are corporations that make a profit. Without jobs, most of us could not support our family. To make a profit, there must be a need for a product or service a company offers.

When the govenrment obstructs the economy instead of creating an environment to enhance job creation, the economy suffers. Everyone should pay their share of taxes. Since 99% of us work for someone else who created a job, why on earth would you advocate making the job creator's life more diffcult. There are several terms for that, like shooting yourself in the foot, hitting yourself with a hammer because it feels so good when you stop, and Catch 22. Who is being hurt by taxing the rich extra? Do you think the rich person's bank account suffers. No, your job does.

Government never created one penny of wealth. They never created a job on their own profit. Any work they create is from our tax dollars. So what is your point???

This is not a left-right issue, it is common sense.

On the political aspect, if Romney wins, which he will not, will never get such a plan through Congress to cut the tax of the rich because the Senate will either be Democratic or split, and will kill the bill. Have you ever posted a thread that centers on the issues that this country is facing and needs solved by the people we elect working together and solving the deficit and and national debt.

Seems most just like to defend the righ.

The question I'd like some of you to answer why are you upset about the rich getting a tax break, but not upset that your taxes, under Romney's bill, will go up?

Really? This is a popular myth, but a false myth.

What about all the money made from the Internet ... developed by DARPA a government agency?

What about all the money the medical industry has made from drugs and products developed by NIH and turned over to industry?

What about all the money made by companies off of GPS? GPS was developed by governmental agencies.

What about all the money made by corporations through developments made possible by government grants?

What about all the money colleges and universities have made since the passage of the Bayh-Dole Act in 1980 that allows them to keep the patient rights and make profits from inventions, processes, products, etc. developed through government grants?

Here is a small example:

Argonne National Laboratory (Argonne, Ill.) has recently commercialized its lithium-rich composite cathode technology for lithium-ion batteries with licenses to GM, Envia, Toda Kogyo, LG Chem, and BASF. This material technology is currently being used in the Chevy Volt battery and will be likely deployed in other plug-in hybrid or all-electric vehicles.
Physicians need to see coronary stents as they are snaked into place in a patient's artery. However, stents made from 316L stainless steel are insufficiently radiopaque, or visible under x-ray fluorescence to be easily visible. Boston Scientific Corporation, Natick, Mass., developed a stent based on a novel alloy created by National Energy Technology Laboratory in Pittsburgh that contains platinum and is more radiopaque than stainless steel. The stent has been approved for use in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

The Amonix 7700 Concentrated Photovoltaic (CPV) Solar Power Generator, developed by Amonix, Seal Beach, Calif. and the Golden, Colo.-based National Renewable Energy Laboratory, is the size of an IMAX screen but costs much less than comparable generators, partly because of the efficiency of its small solar cells. It delivers more "energy per acre" than anything yet available in the solar energy world.

Restaurants and potato processing plants produce loads of waste grease. Researchers at Idaho National Laboratory, Idaho Falls, developed techniques to turn this gunk into high-quality biodiesel. San Jose, Calif.-based BioFuelBox licensed the methods, integrated it with its own techniques, and is now producing top-grade biodiesel from feedstock from a wastewater-treatment plant.

R&D Magazine gives awards for government sponsored research that has led to products bringing profits to industry. Read the list of 2012 awards at: http://www.rdmag.com/Awards/RD-100-Awards/2012/06/R-D-100-2012-Winners-Overview/

The list can go on a long time, but I think you get my point.

Not if the Republicans win control of both houses. We saw what a rubber stamp bunch they were under Bush the first four years. Of course they changed from rubber stampers to obstructionists under Obama.

I have no faith in Republicans not goose stepping along after the marching of a Republican president.

Why should the rich have to pay a higher rate then the poor? Where do you get that from a Christian/biblical perspective?

Why should the middle class have a tax increase and not a reduction? That is the question.
They are binging everyone closer to paying the same rate which is the right thing to do. Why should the rich have to pay higher rates then anyone else? Your proposal makes it more unfair, not more equitable. Why should those who make more have to pay a higher rate? Can you show me anything like that in the bible for tithing?

The first link doesn't really talk about Romney's plan - it just says that in order to be "revenue neutral" by their calculations items like home mortgage interest would have to no longer be deductable (no doubt assuming a static taxpayer environment because everyone knows that cutting taxes never increases revenues ) FIRST LINK DISQUALIFIED...

The second link is a duplication of the first link article... SECOND LINK DISQUALIFIED

Third link... "Because the Tax Policy Center did not know what Romney would actually eliminate, they took the trouble to construct a wide variety of models in an effort to see what results would emerge under different scenarios involving the many possible loopholes a Romney administration could choose to close and deductions that could disappear." THIRD LINK DISQUALIFIED

WHAT A JOKE !!!!

Crabby, you need to start reading these article before linking them.
