Obama's AGI of $789,674 makes him one of those "aching and tirelessly committed Americans"?

Just the other day he said Americans would not elect a person as president if they paid more on their income taxes than was necessary. Now he does not take all the deductions he could so his tax rate is above 13% ... at least until after the election.

Thank goodness the American people are not as stupid as he seems to believe.

You are saying technically Romney could file a 1040X - but technically Romney did not say "Americans would not elect a person as President if he paid more on income tax than was necessary" He only stated HE thought he would not be qualified. Now as you did state - He wanted to stay above the 13% threshold - therefore he is holding himself to a higher standard - (something uncommon with politic ans)

From the Huffington Post (as posted in Post #1) "I don't pay more than are legally due and frankly if I had paid more than are legally due I don't think I'd be qualified to become president," Romney has previously said. "I'd think people would want me to follow the law and pay only what the tax code requires."

You predict that Romeny will file the 1040 X after the election - doesn't bother me a bit - if he does get an additional refund - he could always give it to charity.

Not really. He had said he had paid 13% and if he had taken all he could it would have made that statement untrue.

Oh, please. I hope he does file an amended return.

Hmmmm. I wonder if obama claims his mother-in-law as a dependent since she lives in the WH. I never checked.
