You deny the literal plain truth of the text. You are hopeless. You tell me, what did God mean by "This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they waylaid them as they came up from Egypt. [3] 3 Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.’" ?
It's an allegory for the need for complete holiness in our lives; we must put to death all that is sinful

You are accusing God of Genocide. His word plainly tells is what He did.
Again, explain I Sam 15. I am sure you won't because you can't.
I already have. And it's your interpretation that has God down committing genocide; mine doesn't.

Those two statements are contradictory. To believe the second you would have to believe that God is no better than Hitler, Stalin or Milosevic

How can you love still less worship a being who commits genocide? Why is this even a matter for discussion?! SMH
Foolish argument. You want earthly labels based on earthly laws, to apply to God. That is most arrogant & presumptious. God determines the day every soul takes first & last breath. What you may choose to do with your time here will determine your relationship with Him. He gives us all that we need to accept or deny Him. Gracious. Do not presume to judge His goodness by your earthly standards. Foolish.

And you're re-writing Him as a mass murderer. Surely that's more dangerous
Whoa there hoss, you are rewriting scripture.
Did Saul tell his soldiers kill the men, women, and children; or did he tell his soldiers "go allegorically kill them"?
Do you think the battle even happened? Did God say whay The Holy Scripture directly quotes Him as saying? You say vmurderer." God righteously judges. His killing is just, not murder.

I have repeatedly told you God does no evil because His actions are righteous; not by mans standards but by His. He has by your flawed damnable standards committed what you call "genocide." It was His action so it was right, true, and just. He sets the standard. He makes the rules. He is right.

Your 'plain truth' has Him as committing genocide, which is blasphemous. Therefore there is no way that can be correct
The scripture says what it says. You have NO understanding of it. I believe you calling me blasphemous is an issue for the mods to handle.

Agreed: I think we're all talking at cross purposes, going round in circles and getting in danger of becoming overheated, myself included

Nope. I cannot take your position. It is absolutely the stupidest thing I have ever read. Utter blasphemy and I don’t want it on a thread I created. It stinks that I cannot abide.
