At some point, when I get more time, I'd like to look at some specifics. For example, this was reported by MSNBC; who actually conducted the poll? What was the demographic of the people polled? Where were they located?

By that I mean, if it was conducted by MSNBC personnel, and they polled people who work for MSNBC, then there's not a whole lot of credence to this poll....

The metrics of the poll at are the link. It was conducted by NBC and the Wall St. Journal via Hart Research Associates. 1,000 adults were asked; 52% were women; 48% were men.

Perhaps folks aren't seeing much difference between the two. The things that Christians are supposed to be distinguished by, seem to be absent a lot more than they are present outside the Christian circle of friends.
