Whether Lenin actually used the phrase “useful idiots,” that is, a Russian equivalent, may be difficult to pin down, as his collected works appear to number some 45 volumes plus, all several inches thick with a small font IIRC. But again, the point is moot.

If anyone would like to try to find an equivalent or similar phrase, below is a link to his collected works in English. One caveat: synonyms abound, and Lenin was obviously quite literate. Saying one didn’t find the exact phrase would prove little.

By the way, Bolsheviks (members of Lenin’s party) refers to the majority, but the so-called Mensheviks (minority), far outnumbered them. Lenin’s party was ruthless, Stalin being a prime example. They knew how to wield power absolutely.

Choosing between living under Hitler or Stalin would be a hard choice for a Christian, or no choice at all. On the one hand, you would have a godless, bloody tyrant over you. On the other, you would have the same.

Any article on the Minsk Accords should also mention that the then Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko admitted that he only agreed to the ceasefire merely to win time to rebuild the his military. Wiki, being the slanted news source that it is, does not mention this.
