Trump Signs New Trade Deal With Mexico, Canada

President Donald Trump signed a new trade deal with Canada and Mexico Friday delivering on a signature promise from the 2016 presidential campaign.

“This new agreement will ensure a future of prosperity and innovation for Mexico, Canada and the United States,” Trump declared at the G20 summit in Argentina. The president signed the new deal with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto.

Trump announced in October that the deal would be known as the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement or USMCA. The deal will supersede NAFTA

GOP leaders are currently focused on funding the government past Dec. 7 and clinching an agreement on the farm bill, but this bloc of Republicans says it's in Trump's best interest to move now on the hard-fought trade agreement in case House Democrats refuse to bring it up. …"

Democrats block it at their peril. It's a much better agreement for American workers than what it is replacing, and they seemed to be happy with what we had. Justifying that might not be so easy.
