You said no one was born again in the OT. Can someone be saved, yet nothing born again?

As I understand it, The Holy Spirit could be temporarily placed upon a person, giving them a new heart, but the Holy Spirit was not permanently in them as “Christ in you” via a new birth.

1 Samuel 16:14

Now the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and a spirit of distress from the LORD began to torment him.

Psalm 51

10Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11Do not cast me away from Your presence
And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.

12Restore to me the joy of Your salvation
And sustain me with a willing spirit.

You said Abraham was not born again, yet he had faith as he believed God and it was accounted to him as righteousness. This is found in Genesis 15:6, Romans 4:3, Galatians 3:6, and James 2:23. This is proof that the new birth is not a NT concept only, but has ever been the way God saves, in both testaments.

Seeing that faith is a fruit of the Spirit per Galatians 5:22, it is a biblical impossibility for him to possess a fruit of the Spirit and not possess the Spirit Himself.

When were the disciples of Jesus born again?

What caused Jesus’ disciples to be receptive to His teachings and follow Him?

Does new birth mean having the Holy Spirit near you or having Him inside you?

How were the disciples different on the day of Pentecost?

What did they receive on the day of Pentecost?

John 14

15If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.
16And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate to be with you forever—
17the Spirit of truth. The world cannot receive Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you do know Him, for He abides with you and will be in you.

And you’ve yet to address my verses in my post. All those posts say Abraham believed God (AKA having faith) and it was imputed unto him for righteousness. Now, what righteousness was Abraham imputed with? It couldn’t have been his own, as that is filthy rags, per Isaiah 64:6. So, what righteousness was Abraham imputed with?

Psalm 94:14

For the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.

Romans 11:1

I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

"Shall nation will be born in a day?" is a phrase from Isaiah 66:8 (NKJV/NIV), questioning if a country can be created instantly, often interpreted as a prophecy. It is widely used to describe the creation of modern Israel on May 14, 1948, when independence was declared in a single day, often considered a miraculous fulfillment of this scripture.

The verse (Isaiah 66:8) asks, "Shall a land be born in one day? Or shall a nation be brought forth in a moment?" The verse itself suggests an highly unusual, fast-tracked, divine occurrence.

Modern Fulfillment (Israel 1948): On May 14, 1948, David Ben-Gurion declared the independence of Israel in Tel Aviv, which is often cited as the only modern example of a nation born instantly, just three years after the Holocaust.
Isa 66: 7 Before she travailed, she brought forth; before pain came to her, she delivered a male child.8 Who has heard a thing like this? Who has seen things like these? Shall the earth be brought forth in one day? Shall a nation be born in one step? For Zion travailed and also brought forth her sons.

IMHO That underlined and in bold in 1 Cor 15 is and will be the fulfillment of that in Isa 66.

1 Cor 15: 21 For since death is through man, also through a Man is a resurrection of the dead;22 for as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.23 But each in his own order: Christ, the firstfruit; afterward those of Christ at His coming.

Has nothing to do with 1948 IMO.

Col 1: 18 And He is the Head of the body, the assembly, who is the Beginning, the First-born out of the dead, that He be preeminent in all things;
Rom 8: 29 because whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be the First-born among many brothers.
Phil 3: 20 For our citizenship is in Heaven, from where we also wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,21 who will transform our body of humiliation, for it to be conformed to His body of glory, according to the working of Him to be able even to subject all things under Himself.

Jesus is never called a nation that was born in one day, Humans are born in one day all the time. The nation is Israel 1948.

JESUS = firstborn out of the dead = Before she travailed, she brought forth; before pain came to her, she delivered a male child.

The nation that is born in one day = because whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be the First-born among many brothers. = afterward those of Christ at His coming. which is = to 2 Tim 4: 1 Then I solemnly witness before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, He being about to judge the living and dead at His appearance and His kingdom:

Ancient Israel did more than bring Christ. It was a light to the world, teaching God’s law and morality.

Nowhere in the Old Testament do we find God commanding the ancient Israelites to be missionaries to the world of the Gentiles. Now when ancient Israel, especially the northern ten tribes, was disbursed to other countries, especially the Roman Empire, over the few hundred years before the birth of Christ Jesus, that did assist in preparing the way for the spreading of the gospel of Christ; the gospel of salvation by the free sovereign grace of God, not by works.

Quote the scripture to support a 40 year probationary period for Israel.

I suggest reading the book of Hebrews, a book written just a few years before ancient Israel was destroyed.

Hebrews 8:13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

The correct term would be 'Fulfillment' or 'Inclusion' Theology.'

Spot on.

Now, no one knows the number of the elect, chosen by God before the world began and given to His Son to be their Surety. Perhaps, before Christ returns and replaces the present heavens and earth with the new heavens and earth wherein dwells righteousness(now there's a replacement that I long for), there will be a substantial number of Jews who come under the hearing of the gospel of Christ, and whom the Holy Spirit will regenerate and grant the gifts of faith in the finished work of Christ and repentance of dead works. No one knows if such will happen, no one can state such with certainty. The command for God's people is to teach, as God providentially leads, the gospel of Christ to the whole world, Jew and Gentile.

You are certainly joking. There is an abundance of evidence throughout the Old Testament that a huge purpose of Israel was to be a lesson to the entire world. There is no way anyone could miss this.

The Old Testament is loaded with the missiological work of Israel, including when they were in Egyptian and Babylonian captivity. The story of Jonah is a shining example.

God’s promises of blessing through Abraham and his seed—both the plural “succession of representatives” and Christ who is “both part of that succession and the final consummation” of it —reveal God’s missionary intent. Similarly, God’s self-revelation at the time of the exodus ensured that the Egyptians would “know” him and that his name would “be proclaimed in all the earth” (Exod 9:14, 16).

The “mixed multitude” (Exod 12:38) that joined the exodus indicates that many Egyptians came to know Yahweh as he overthrew their gods. By establishing his covenant with Israel and setting them apart as his treasured possession, a universal ethical standard, a kingdom of prophets and priests, and a holy nation (Exod 19: 4–6), God intended that they actively represent him to the nations.

Read Isaiah again and notice how many times the LORD declared about gentile nations, “then they will know that I am the LORD God.”

The fact that the Magi from Persia came to worship the young Jesus is an example of how Israel was a light to the gentile world.

The book of Hebrews says nothing about Israel being given a 40 year probationary period.

A righteousness in which God can find no flaw - the perfect righteousness of Christ Jesus.
Amen Brother

Abraham was dead , in faith having had the gospel preached to him, that is, "In thy seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed."
Gal 3:23,24 And before the coming of the faith, [Abraham died in] under law we were being kept, shut up to the faith about to be revealed, so that the law became our child-conductor -- to Christ, that by faith [Abraham could be] we may be declared righteous,

Then the faith of Abraham came!
Gal 3:25 and the faith having come, no more under a child-conductor are we,

The faith of Abraham. The Seed of Abraham gave His life, His blood a ransom which declared Abraham righteous; Wherefore Phil 2:9
wherefore, also, God did highly exalt him, [the seed of Abraham] and gave to him a name that is above every name,

Now IMHO Abraham is dead in Christ awaiting the perfection which comes through, the redemption of the body, the adoption, Abraham's resurrection.

The dead in Christ shall rise first.

IMO the following is the lesson of God to the nations through Israel.

Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went. And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes. Ezek 36:22,23

Ezek 34:11,12 For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I, even I, will both search my sheep, and seek them out. As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.

For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all. Rom 11:32
