Of all the leaders we have had since our nation was founded, who do you think did our nation and freedom the most damage and why? Aaron Burr comes to mind. Hint: Although unknown, we have had some real loser VPs, such as VP Breckenridge and Agnew. (among others)

If you want to include Aaron Burr on your list, then you need to add Jefferson Davis. But I don't think many here would want that. Personally, I think Uncle Jeff was more dangerous to the CSA than he was to the US.

Evil as in evil intent?

I would have to say Julius and Edith Rosenberg for passing atomic secrets to the Russians in 1945.

The potential harm is beyond my imagination.

For evil as just plain an evil person I would have to say whoever was the worst slaveholder.

In addition to abortionists I vote for the man who aided the Soviet Union in getting the atomic bomb, Harry Hopkins, Director of LendLease during WWII and good buddy of FDR.

The Treachery Of Harry Hopkins
Reed Irvine and Cliff Kincaid — October 8, 1999

A new book titled titled The Sword and the Shield has attracted considerable media attention, because it is based on copies of KGB documents that were smuggled out of the Soviet Union six years ago. Vasily Mitrokhin a KGB archivist had painstakingly copied KGB files for many years. He had kept his copies hidden under the floor of his country house until 1992, when British intelligence managed to get both him and his six trunks of copied documents out of Russia. Christopher Andrew, a Cambridge don, has now published a book based on them

/snip/

But they have all overlooked the biggest news in the Andrew book? New evidence that proves that Harry Hopkins, the closest and most influential adviser to President Franklin D. Roosevelt during World War II, was a Soviet agent. Andrew had reported this in a book he had written in 1990 based on information provided by Oleg Gordievsky, a high-level KGB officer who had also been smuggled out of the Soviet Union by British intelligence. Gordievsky reported that Iskhak Ahkmerov, the KGB officer who controlled the illegal Soviet agents in the U.S. during the war, had said that Hopkins was “the most important of all Soviet wartime agents in the United States.”

This is the second in a series in five parts based on the new book, "American Betrayal: The Secret Assault on Our Nation’s Character" (St. Martin’s Press) by Diana West.

It’s difficult to imagine someone more important in U.S. history than Harry Hopkins, but Americans don’t learn much more than his name, if that, in school.
This means we aren’t taught that Hopkins, FDR’s top wartime advisor, ran what became known as “Roosevelt’s own personal Foreign Office” from the Lincoln Bedroom, where Hopkins lived for three-and-half-years. We aren’t taught that this former social worker in key ways controlled U.S. foreign policy by controlling the distribution of U.S. military materiel to countries at war through his supervision of the massive Lend Lease program. We aren’t taught he attended the famous wartime conferences as de facto “foreign minister.” We certainly aren’t taught that Lend Lease, perhaps even Hopkins himself, pushed uranium and other A-bomb essentials through to Stalin.

These uranium shipments, erased from our historical memory but documented by Congress in 1950, took place at a time when the atomic development program known as the Manhattan Project was, we thought, our most precious secret.
Why would Lend Lease, overseen by Hopkins -- who was also, not incidentally, FDR’s liaison to atomic research -- do such a thing?

The answer may relate to something else we don’t learn about Harry Hopkins: FDR’s powerful wartime advisor may have been a Soviet agent -- and “the most important of all Soviet wartime agents.”

This was the estimation of Iskhak Ahkmerov, the famed Soviet “illegal” who ran a stable of top spies for the Kremlin, including Alger Hiss. Oleg Gordievsky, a former KGB colonel and trusted defector, reported in his 1990 book KGB, co-authored with Christopher Andrew, that he heard Akhmerov single out Hopkins as the Soviets’ No. 1 agent in a lecture to KGB officers in the 1960s.

Right now I am leaning toward abortionists and those who support abortionists plus Edward Snowden the NSA leaker who leaked to the Communist world: 200,000 plus documents! No way this person can be hailed as a hero!

Sanger brought abortion to the U.S. as an acceptable alternative to carrying a baby to term. She did not destroy the government, our freedoms or the free enterprise system.

O'Hair undermined Christian influence in this country and essentially made our faith an "enemy" of the people. She did not destroy the government, our freedoms or the free enterprise system.

Abortions in general have killed nearly 31 million of our fellow citizens. They have not destroyed the government, our freedoms or the free enterprise system.

Hopkins may or may not have given the atomic bomb to the Soviets. Even he did not destroy the government, our freedoms or the free enterprise system.

Barack Husein Obama has critically undermined our freedoms, governed secretly via executive order, illegally rewritten laws passed by Congress without the consent of Congress, and has generally threatened the very existence of our free enterprise system. No one can argue that he is not the sole historical figure that has done the greatest harm, brought the greatest danger upon, and created the largest threat to our way of life in the history of the United States.

As such, he is inarguably the most evil person in American history.

Sanger promoted abortion to eliminate those she considered undesirable; you know like blacks, us Southern rednecks, poor folks, and the like! That is as evil as one can get IMO!

O'Hair undermined Christian influence in this country and essentially made our faith an "enemy" of the people. She did not destroy the government, our freedoms or the free enterprise system.
Nothing O'Hair did will affect the Salvation of a single one of God's elect!

Actually the number is closer to 55 million. As a consequence the number paying your SS and Medicare is reduced by one third! That in itself could bankrupt the country!

Hopkins may or may not have given the atomic bomb to the Soviets.
He didn't give them the bomb, just the material to make one.

Even he did not destroy the government, our freedoms or the free enterprise system.
It was not because he did not try!

Actually Harry Reid is Obama's chief enabler and George Soros is Obama's money man so throw them in the mix. Obama is simply a tool, an ardent abortionist, but still a tool. It is the people behind him who are the more evil.

Off the top of my head, Woodrow Wilson.

I agree. How dare we consider somebody who tells the truth about what an overreaching and out of control government is up to a hero.

All hail Emperor Obama.

I concede that Obama is out of control and the NSA should be reigned in.

That being said, Snowden is no hero.

If he had stayed in this country and blown the whistle he might possible be considered a hero.

As it is he is a treasonous person and should be brought back to this country, tried, found guilty, and hung!

Furthermore, whoever gave this person the necessary clearance to gain access to the info he absconded with is also culpable.

Joseph Kennedy and his family have wreaked havoc on this nation.

Jack did a couple of good things: He cut taxes and manned up in the Cuban Missile Crisis. But then he screwed up in the Bay of Pigs incident.

Whatever good Jack may have done Teddy compensated for ten times over and more.
