Mothers,wives, and priorities

Yes,I know what she does now...their children are all grown. I also read an article on homeschooling where he stated that if they had it to do again,they would've homeschooled in the early years.

No,I do not worship these men,in fact I don't always agree with Dobson's psycho stuff,but I do respect and appreciate their stand and comittment to God's word. I do respect men who give their lives to study and teach God's word. They are fallible,though and I always line eveyrhting upt o scripture....I just think we should listen to and heed wise biblical counsel...Clint,that's how I learned it from study myself and from godly menw ho teach boldly the Word of God...I haven't always believed this,in fact in my ealry 20's I would have thought nothing wrong with women working...I was attracted myself to the corporate world,I thought about going to law school...but God has changed my heart on these things through wise counsel.

Once again,we are debating something that neither of us are going to see differently today. That's okay. Im just really suprised you feel this way.

I did not mean you specifically. I meant any woman who is usurping her authority. I have no idea what you do.
Did you read the Scripture I gave to answer your question? It is Matthew 6:33. Actually my first question for you is, are you a born again believer in Jesus Christ? Second question is the Word of God innerant? I ask these so I know where you stand on those issues.
In Matthew 6:33 we are told to seek ye FIRST the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you. SO when a born again child of God is seeking the Kingdom of God they will not be hungry because the Word of God has promised that they will not. I stand only upon the Word and that is exactly what it says. And I wonder too have you ever seen real poverty?
I have been to countries where there is true poverty, like Bangledesh and Kenya.
As far as not taking services from a woman, that is ridiculous. The Word of God teaches that the way to heaven is narrow but the path to destruction is wide. This means that there are many, many more unsaved than there are saved. There are very, very FEW born again Christians in this world.
We cannot ask an unbeliever to hold to Biblical standards. First they must be saved.
Married women were created, to be helpers to their husbands. When I first learned this it was actually quite hard to swallow. I was raised in a feminist environment and worked towards my goals regardless of how my husband felt for a while. And that, Katie is what I speak out against. I speak out against women who are in charge of both their families and of themselves. Against women who place their children in other's care so that they might fulfill their own dreams. I understand there are cases when a woman must work, but most times she can do this from her home and by cutting back in most areas women find they can make it on a small income.
I take myself as an example. When I was working I spent a lot of money on groceries because I would rush through the store not taking my time to carefully account for the money. We went out to eat alot, bought a lot of convenience foods.
When I came home we were a bit nervous because we had learned so much about living the worlds way. But, after a while we saw that God blessed us and we were able to save money and eventually become debt free. My husband is not a rich man either, in fact some would consider us on the lower levels of income. However, I have never been hungry, my refrigerator and cupboards are always stocked full, I have much more than I need and all on an income that many women say is not enough.
Again to answer the question about the husband getting back on his feet, the answer is found in Matthew 6:33. For born again Christians there will always be provisions for the things they need. GOd promises that. And He never breaks His promises.
Do you not think that the God who owns the universe can provide for whoever it is that needs these things? And to be honest the church is responsible for it's own poor. If we have needs that are not being met in our own churches that is a shame to us. I speak to myself when I say that. I need to make sure that my sisters and brothers have all they need. IF they have a need and we can supply it, praise God.

In other words, you are saying that God would never provide a woman with a job to fulfill Matthew 6:33? It must be very nice to know how Our Heavenly Father will provide our every need, I have never known how my Heavenly Father was going to provide for us, I just always had faith that He would, as His scriptures has told me.

And who are you that you know exactly how all husbands want or need to be helped by their wives? All men's needs are not the same as your husband.

And I stand beside my sister Katie, she is a good Christian woman, she does study her Bible and I personally would ask for advise from her.

Molly, what difference does it make what your husband says, why would any of these women on this thread listen to your husband? We have our own husbands, and I will guarantee you, you don't want to hear what my husband thinks of all this.

And anyway, my husband encourages me to use my own mind, he would never expect or want me to see everything his way. He likes it that I can think on my own.

In my case,my husband studies more than me,knows more than me and is a student of God's Word. I study,too,but he feels a greater sense of responsiblity to study,so that he can lead me and the children spiritually. I respect what he has to say and I often ask his opinion. About the bap board,he doesn't like stuff like this,plus doesn't have as much time,but I enjoy the interaction,so I tell him what we are talking about and he gives input when I ask for his help. I was just sharing what he said and what we had talked about.

I do think on my own,but in my case,my husband is more spiritually wise than I am,plus as the head of our family,I am careful to stay under his leadership. He has and does teach me alot.

It's too bad this subject has so much "heat". I was enjoying it at first. If anything it would be nice to see us as brothers and sisters lifting one another up. I realize this topic has been discussed into the ground.

All of us have various convictions depending on our walk with the Lord and what has been brought to light in our hearts in regards to living our life under His lordship. I think it's in Hebrews that it speaks of His kindness that brings us to repentance....do you see? He kindness. I'm so thankful for the Lord's patience, mercy and kindness. Remember the fruits of the Spirit? Perhaps if one cannot handle discussing a topic without stumbling or causing another to stumble it may be better to lift up the positive and seek to edify one another.

Step back....take a deep breath.

I'm not trying to be coy or cute here. With this media it is soooo easy to get carried away and make assumptions, believing the worst instead of the best.

There it is in God's Word, not my opinion. My flesh does not agree or like those words. BUt, they are my Father's Word's and I must accept them for exactly what they say and nothing else.

The role of the woman in the home is quite simple. She is to take care of her home and teach her children and make provisions for them as well, so where and how does the bible say she is not able to do this and hold down a job as well? Just because a mother would place her child in a daycare or in someone else's care while she works does not mean she can't or isn't teaching her child the same godly values and morals and vital basic life biblical truths that any stay at home mom is teaching. The point is if the mom can do all those things plus go to work I would say she is a very godly mother and is holding down her home in a very biblical fashion.

I am glad there are people who are so 100% godly that they can now dictate to others what the will of God is for them in their lives. Who believe their own personal convictions are in fact scripture and we all must follow them.

None is 100% godly,only Christ was perfect. He lived a sinful life so that he could be the substitution for us and be the propitiation for our sins. he got what we deserve. Through Him is the only way to live a godly life...He gives us what we need to live according to His powerful Word. But,we are human and we fail....but we try and continue on. I don't think anyone here thinks they are perfect,that would be the sin of pride. Some are teachers,though and want Truth proclaimed. Some feel the need to stand up for the things that are important and on the heart of God. i'm sorry you feel offended by that or by someone here. I apologize if I have offended you or anyone.

I think the most important thing and also is on the heart of God is that we as mothers and wives do our best to help withhold a godly atmosphere and train our children. God gave us all different abilites in making our house a home and still some the talent to go outside the home....I believe this is all scriptural and on the heart of God.

I can agree with that-that God wants our priorities on the home,I've said that all along. Whether someone can do that and work outside the home is the question,but it is the question everyone has to answer themselves. That sums it up for me.

Do you reakky mean that you spend too much time with your child and your husband? I have 2 children and I love every moment that I get with them. I would never dream of saying that I spend too much time with them because they are my gift from God and I am truely blessed.
