I've been saying fpr some time now, especially after enduring how many years now, of Britney and others' daily antics right in the daily newspapers, and ol' brother Michael ever since he became really big, that these people get too much attention, and all they do is get wierder and more shocking every year. I think the whole pop-culture scene with both the entertainers and sports being so big, and well paid is ridiculous (then, many of us complain about taxes, and who they are being wasted on; who's getting what they didn't deserve, etc. ). It's all part of the idolatry of the day.

(to think; Janet used to be my dream girl when we were teenagers. Then, she "grew up" and threw off all innocence [IMG] ). But then so is everyone else, and much faster (Britney, Christina, etc))

If anyone is interested, here's a link where you can send an email of protest to MTV, CBS, the NFL and Viacom.

    http://www.baptistboard.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=001651

It's easy to do with just a couple of clicks.

We can talk about it on here, but that won't get the message to the powers that be - they need to hear from all who are outraged at the filth being thrown in our faces.

As O'Reilly said on Fox News, what they did is disrepectful to American families.

They slimed decent Americans who don't go for the MTV rot.

In Australia they put the Jerry Springer show on at lunchtime weekdays.

To put it pretty bluntly that show seems to emphasise quite a different picture of the U.S than what is portrayed on boards like this.

So in the U.S, when a Stephen Segal film is shown on T.V and a topless scene occurs is it edited out? How about the "F" word? does that get cut from movies on T.V?

In Australia full swearing is permitted although networks seem to use some discrection, and full nudity is permitted after 9:30pm, partial at any time.

Some things are banned though, Australia has the highest per capita suicide rate in the world, resultingly the media are not permitted to make reports on suicides. Which I find odd, but maybe that is the same in the U.S as well?

I've never seen a suicide reported unless it's a popular figure or there was another crime involved, like they shot their wife and them themself.
The newspaper doesn't list it as such ever. It always says in the obituary they "died suddenly in his home" or something like that.
I don't think it's a law, just common curtesy to save the family from being embarassed and gossiped about, most likely! Not sure though.
