I like a lot of songs from the old Sing-Along-With Mitch TV Show.I barely remember the program from my childhood. But I found a lot of his stuff on youtube like "Five Foot Two -- Eyes Of Blue".It's primarily just a bunch of men singing together very well. The harmony is superb.

Leslie Uggams did a song on there that I really enjoy:Atchinison, Topeka And The Santa Fe.That song is wonderful. She knew (and knows) how to belt them out of the park.

    I like Mireille Mathieu.She is a singer's singer.

Some selections that I enjoy are :

    La Derniere Valse
    Les Bicyclettes De Belsize
Je Ne Suis Rien Sans Toi
    Akropolis Adieu
    Mon Credo

Wot could be better n this, a bit of a cuddle and kiss,
    Out beneath the pale moonlight.........
When little tommy tucker goes up to uncle ned

I haven't heard of any of those Rippon mentioned. Also, I can't understand why anyone would be ashamed of any music they like. If they're ashamed to admit to listening to it, then maybe God is trying to tell them something.

"Like" and "listen to" are two different things.

I like the sound on a certain performer. I don't like the words, the philosophy, the lifestyle promoted, or the character of the now dead performer. But I do like the sound of his music.

So I choose not to listen to the music I like.

I love the BeeGees! Come to think of it, I just love disco.

    Shake, shake, shake
    Shake, shake, shake,
    shake your.......

    Not really.
The only thing worse than disco is rap and hip hop.

This part is for real. I love opera. Yes, ma'am, a genuine can't understand a single word you're singing opera. I used to have this conversion van with a 1200 watt (rms) stereo system blasting Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro. And what of Puccinni's Tosca? "O Scarpia, avanti a Dio!"

The common wedding march used in a lot of weddings comes from an opera........and a not so nice scene.

Stainer's The Crucifixion ... musical purists pan it for being sentimental and lush. But that has appealed to me ever since, many years ago, I played the organ accompaniment for a presentation of the piece.

That there is funny! I can picture the van with shag carpet and a disco ball hanging low blasting Mozart!

I confess I like some rap. The old school rap though.

I LOVE Sinead O'Connor. I saw her in concert once, and she was amazing.

But I am glad she stopped shaving her head.

Sinead really changed her attitude in public after she shaved her head. Maybe that was a good thing. Her stage presence sure improved.

    Cheers,

I once went to the local Wal-Mart and got a "Jerry Clower", a "Ray Stevens", and a "Beethoven" tape. The cashier looked at me funny.

:love2: One of the all time greats!! (I think it's spelled Lynnard Skynnard). I just heard this on the radio the other day (the full long version).

No reason to be embarrassed about liking this.
