The fundamentalist Bible college movement is on the way out. And it is unaccredited.

Did your daughter follow God's will in choosing the college? If she did, good. If she didn't, one choice is as bad as another.
Are you happy with her choice? What is she planning on studying?
I think congrats are in order.
If you, as a parent have not done a thorough researching of the school in it's ENTIRETY, and if you don't KNOW why not...
...then there is no one here at the Baptist Board who is going to be able to explain it to you to your satisfaction..... so......

I would echo what he Scarlett said as well as.....I pray she is not forever (at least on this earth....and maybe the next, not knowing her heart) damaged by this choice. Prayers of sovereign protection and discernment for her.
I guess that means they aren't Duck Dynasty fans... :laugh:
I So did the research, in fact I moved to the area 10 years ago so we could be apart of the church. My daughter actually just graduated from the academy there, this year. So I know the school, staff and what is taught inside and out.
Thank you all for the positive inputs. Yes, she prayed about God's will, and she is doing it.

Crazycat...Don't let the naysayers here get to you. As long as your precious daughter has sought to do that which is pleasing to the Lord then she will be alright. There are many here on the BB that OVER-elevate "scholarship" or education and are critical of old-fashioned Bible standards. Just because a school is not or does not seek "accreditation" does NOT make it a bad school. Also, many of our churches (and schools) these days have an "anything" goes type of attitude towards the things and ways of this world. "Accreditation" is NOT the stamp that makes a school worthy and faithful to God and subject to His approval. There are plenty of good God-called servants of the Lord that are faithful and fruitful to the Lord without the credentials that some crave. I'm not against education...I wish I had more....what I'm against is anybody who thinks they are better than me (or anybody else)because they have more than me or because they went to thus-and-so school.
As long as your daughter (or anybody else) keeps their heart and mind in the Book and their prayer life aflame then they'll be OK...IMHO. God bless her as she seeks God's direction for her life.

And you consider THAT a bad thing?....REALLY?? Does that mean you are in FAVOR of women wearing revealing immodest clothing, men wearing their hair in styles more fitting for females, wicked worldly music, illegal recreational drug use....and everything else the Bible teaches against either by direct declaration or in principle? Are you against Biblical separation? Are you against the use of the KJV? It is certainly a better version then the NIV (at least in my opinion). I'm sure those who attend Fairhaven know "up front" what they are signing up for....particularly if they have been involved with the home church there for the 10 years Crazycat mentioned. God will bless them for being steadfast and consistent in their lifestyle as they seek to honor God.

Sag...I'm not trying to deliberately slam you or anything...I just think you need to think it through. While the Gospel we are called to spread to this world is definitely Good News...and VERY positive, I think if you look at the spiritual and moral condition of this world you have to be honest and admit there is far more to be against in this current culture if you only glance "casually" at the Word of God. God spends far more time in His Word condemning (negative...don't you think?)the sins of man and pronouncing judgement on us than the opposite simply because of our CONSTANT and repeated rebellion against Him. We are commanded to FLEE youthful lusts and anything else that is contrary to God's Holiness and truth.
We ought to be thankful that these schools raise a high standard of conduct and deportment as long as they don't run contrary to what God either directly says or teaches "in principle" in His Word. While I know there have been abuses (since fallible men are in charge of ALL these places) I think that "in general", the Christian Institutions need to take the high ground because this world certainly isn't going to. Christian "liberty" should never be a license for sin or worldliness. Life without rules and standards amounts to rebellion and anarchy.

Anybody who signs on to attend is likely made aware of the rules and standards prior to admission....and to sign on when in disagreement with the published standards is tantamount to deliberate dishonesty and a recipe for trouble.
As for Fairhaven...I don't know much more about them other than they are the ministry of a local New Testament Baptist Church....and that I like. That would make them similar to schools like Tabernacle Baptist College in the Greenville SC area where I live whom I have always had great respect for. That school was started by the late Dr. Harold B.Sightler as a ministry of the Tabernacle Baptist Church here in G'ville. I personally like it when the local church "takes up the torch" of training future generations of believers for the work of the ministry.JMHO.
