My Stand on Abortion

1) Birth Control - pills, ect are not wrong (other than the morning after pill)
2) Abortion from the moment of conception is nothing short of murder
3) While running for political office, I did state I would vote for any bill that emiliate at lest some abortions.
( is - I will take something small - rather than nothing)
4) Mothers who have had abortions, need our love and support

So what is your stand on abortion

The only exception that I would readily support is when the life of the mother would be lost. If the mother dies the baby will also die. I do not see where two deaths are justifiable if one can be saved.

Do you agree?

I agree with you Salty!!

CTB - It is exceedingly rare that a baby has to be sacrificed to save the life of the mother. In most cases, the baby is brought to as mature a gestation as possible and given steroids to help mature the lungs and they are then delivered when it becomes absolutely necessary. A doctor is dealing with TWO patients - not just one.

TC - In that case, I'd ask the doctor to do what he had to do to try to save both - delivering the child and working to keep him/her alive. My good friend who owns the horse that I have ridden for so many years delivered her son at 26 weeks due to a blood clotting factor and she was going to have a stroke if her child wasn't delivered. He is now 8 years old. We don't "sacrifice" one to save the other but we try to save both and in some cases, the one is just too young to live outside the uterus but we try. We don't go in and cut the child up alive to rip them out of the uterus but treat them with the dignity they deserve.

My stand on abortion is this:
1. I am against all forms of hormonal birth control as they all have the potential to destroy a baby after conception but before implantation.
2. There is no reason in this day and age not to try to save both mother and baby.
2a I have told my husband with how much we have struggled to have a baby that if we are blessed with a pregnancy and it ever comes down to a choice that I want him to choose the baby.

With my husband and I dealing with Infertility my emotions on abortion issue have been magnified, and it makes me see red to hear politicians speak about reproductive health as code for abortion,while ignoring the real reproductive health issues in this country.

What about an ectopic pregnancy where the fertilized egg becomes lodged outside of the uterus?
Only a very few in medical history have ever resulted in a live birth.
The mother will usually die from hemorrhaging.

Personally I believe this is an exception especially when the death of the mother is imminent.

My understanding of ectopic pregnancies is that by the time they are discovered it is too late to save the baby and all attention is on the mother. I consider ectopic to be in the same class as miscarriage and they should in no way be used as a wedge to support abortion.

You don't believe abortion is murder. You don't believe abortion is even slightly immoral. Or, do you think other murderers need love and support? Or, are you just kissing up to feminists "Please don't hate me for being against abortion"? Either way, I smell the stench of hypocrisy.

Women who get married and have children need and deserve our love and support.
Women who keep their babies need our love and support.
Women who kill their babies do not need nor deserve our love and support.

This kiss-up thing to those hostile to decency doesn't work, unless your goal is to promote what you claim to be against.

It is rare that it is necessary to kill the unborn child to save the life of a mother. So rare it is not needful to be a part of this discussion. To do so only shows the underlying agenda of trying to justify abortion.

Agreed. BTW BW my wife and I have had 11 children (one family), we now have 26 grandchildren with one on the way. :)

What would you choose if it was your wife who would die in an abortion was not performed? Would you allow the abortion?
