My Stand on Abortion

NOTE: THIS IS NOT A DEBATE THREAD!!!

I have seen in several threads where abortion always pops up, even though that is
not part of the OP. ( "well if you believe that than what about abortion....".

So in this thread, lets plainly state our stand on abortion.
Some of us believe there is absolutely no cause for abortion - to those who say that
abortion should be the final choice of a woman for any "reason" - even without input of her husband.

Now, there will be no misunderstanding of where each of us stand.

There should be no debating ( do that in a debate thread).

This is simply for on-the-record info though a quick statement backing up your reasoning
would be appreciated.

Since I believe a new person is created upon conceptions, I believe that abortion is nothing short of murder

In certain cases where the life of the mother is threatened it may be necessary.

It is never necessary fro the "health" of the mother. Health has become a catch all phrase to allow abortion under any circumstances.

Supporting organizations that perform abortions is supporting abortions. It matters not what else anyone says. This "I do not support abortions but I do support planned parenthood is just a bunch of garbage.

If you were really against slaughtering the unborn child then you would be against organizations that do it no matter what.

I believe life begins at conception and abortion is murder. I believe supporting organizations or politicians who endorse abortion is wrong for the Christian. Knowingly voting for a politician who supports abortion is the same as having blood on your hands. The only time I will ever vote for someone who is pro-abortion is when there is no other alternative and the other candidate is pro-abortion along with being immoral on other issues. In that case, I would vote the lesser of the two evils to PREVENT more sin from happening.

I guess you must determine when a soul is created. Some believe instantly, others beieve it is somewhere between 7th month and a short time after actual birth. I happen to believe the latter. Hence, "Abortion if necessary, but not necessarily abortion." My motto.

Cheers,

Jim

I must admit I find some of the responses surprising, but then there is a neat bumper sticker that says it all.....a pic with a baby to one side and to the other a picture of a baby seal.....the words are "guess which of these is protected?"

And I agree with my Christian sister on this issue.

Life begins at the moment of conception.

To end that life for any reason is murder.

If God didn't want that life to exist, He would not have created a little boy or girl, in the first place. Additionally, IF God decides the baby has accomplished his or her purpose before birth, He will end the pregnancy. Man has no authority to take that decision out of our Creator's capable hands.

At what point does a baby sin? Surely if God created the baby at birth, it would be sinless. God does not create sin.

Since its deliberately wanting to end a child's life, the only procedure is to save the life of the mother when doing nothing means both baby and mother die. Its about saving a life, not ending one.
