N-R-B chief: Islam a `pagan religion'

Nashville, Tennessee-AP -- As Muslims wrap up their annual pilgrimage, the chairman of the National Religious Broadcasters has called Islam "a pagan religion."

At the N-R-B convention in Nashville, Tennessee, chairman Glenn Plummer declared that the Bible says the only way people can reach God is through Jesus -- "not Muhammad" and "not Allah."

Insisting he means no hostility, Plummer added that people can't get to God through Buddha, the Dalai Lama or Sun Myung Moon either.

The theme of this year's N-R-B convention is "Changing World, Unchanging Message."

If only others would publicly stand up like this. Most pastors and major 'Christian' public speakers seem to want to avoid calling sin sin.

I actually listened to part of the sermon/speech. Wow. Scripture sure is convincing :D

Anything other than Christan is pagan. Simple as that. But remember any other religion can use the same word, pagan, of Chhristians. It's just that we have the privalage of knowing the true God.

Just from having scanned over some writings by Christian leaders from a couple of centuries back, it looks as though they thought of "religion" as something strictly Christian in nature. Anything that was non-Christian was considered to be heathen. The freedom of religion, which the Pilgrims sought, wasn't the right to worship idols or other false gods, but the right to interpret the Bible for one's self and worship as God directs.
