I am not superstitious except maybe in reverse. I walk under ladders all the time. I know God is watching me.

I prefer to stay on the ground, thanks...

(And BTW, they don't numb anything when you get pierced professionally.. especially not your tongue, because it doesn't hurt!)

I made it though the day with no real bad luck. I don't believe all that superstitious stuff so maybe that helped.

I have noticed a lot of the yellow ribbons are coming down. Same with the 'support your troops' signs and not as many flags flying either. We still have troops over there.

Yes, I agree! Please don't stop praying and supporting our troops. My nephew is on of the soldiers still in iraq. I have another on his way to afganistan in 2 weeks. Lets keep flying our colors and displaying thoughs yellow bows until all the soldiers are home.

Our county public works has taken down many of the worn and torn yellow ribbons and replaced them with new bright yellow ribbons. We are still remembering.

Kids today go by the motto, "I want's what I want and I want it now."

I know what you mean by the kids today. It seems to be that they are out for self and what is best for them. It is sad really. I would like to think that they are all not that way but I say for the most part yes.

I agree. I have had over $600.00 worth of concrete and plaster yard ornaments stolen. It takes money to buy them and time to paint them. The police only found one of them and it had been all nicked up and thrown in the creek. It's not like they're stealing them to display!

I shamefully admit being one of those kids in my youth. We would steal for sale signs and stick them in a yard of someone we did not like. At halloween we would steal jack-o-laterns and put them all somewhere while lit (like in the high school parking lot). We would throw bags of dreft in our town's water fountain and watch the bubbles overtake the streets. Please do not try this at home.

Shame on you Lil Stinker!!! I know how badly I felt when my ornaments were stolen. But, then, I had put a lot of work into painting them etc., not to mention the money. The kids have already started this summer on stealing flowers at the cemetery and shooting out car windows with BB guns. It makes me sad.

Now those kids are a different breed. We never set out to hurt anyone or cause damage to personal property.

I wish I could find the culprits. Last year someone stole 'Baby Jesus' out of the nativity set on my front lawn. I put a large sign where the manger used to be and it said, "MERRY CHRISTMAS TO THE PERSON WHO STOLE JESUS!" Then I wrote a letter to the editor and said, "No questions asked if returned and you merely stole a figure, you did not steal Christmas."

Who took it?

Praise God, that we cannot really have Jesus taken from us. People can still a figure but not the true Jesus that lives in each christians heart.

Sue, maybe you should witness to thoughs Jesus stealers. Write scriptures on the bottom of the figurines. Thou shalt not steal for instance.

Good idea except we now 'plant' our ornaments. Hubby buries a cement block, then applies liquid nails to the bottom of the ornament and glues it to the block. No one is stealing anymore without a shovel and two people to carry off what they dig!!!
