psalms109:31 said:Jesus has paid the penalty of the soul, not for the body.
Whatever was "taken on" by Christ, is redemned by Christ. If He did not want to redemn the "flesh", there would be no reason for Him to "put on" the flesh. Christ paid the penalty for his people; body and spirit.
Who can save us from the body of death. praise be to Jesus. It does not say He is going to save the body, but save us from it.
You simply keep misunderstanding scripture. "Sin" and "Death" in Romans 7 are being personified as "rulers" or "masters" that control the unbeliever's life. The word "body" is referring to a "slave body". The slave language is all over Romans, beginning in verse one. Paul is saying "who can save us from this "slave" body that belongs to the death master". Once Christ "redemns" or "saves" us, body and soul/spirit, then He becomes our master.
This body is from this world and it will be destroyed and we will be given a Spiritual body.
This body is a gift from God that belongs to God. It will be transformed and reunited with soul/spirit; but it will never be destroyed.
Saying that it is from the natural body that i despise is very polluted.
Then you despise the good gifts of God, and have fallen into a dualism that is very similar to the heretic, Marcion.
I do not see how you don't get it.
We all do agree, but we all refuse to agree with one another. You all just don't want to believe one destroyes the other.
I agree that you do not see. I do not agree with you concerning this matter which, apparently, defines your theology.
peace to youraying:
They are two different bodies completely, i do not see why you do not see it.
psalms109:31 said:Jesus was raised on the third day resurrected and was lifted into heaven.
Lazarus was raised and was resurrected in the same body and died again.
We will be resurrected in a new body one that will not perish.
Do you see the difference in being raised in a natural body with sin and without sin.
Since Jesus has condemned sin in the flesh then we will be resurrected in a new body..
Just as there is a natural body there is a Spiritual body.
Our bodies with sin came from the dust and will return to it, but the Spiritual body will last for eternity.
