The military has had 52 covid deaths (there were 24 by the end of March 2021), which is low. Bases closed down, access was restricted, traning was slowed down, recruitment slowed, travel was restricted, and masks were required. Apparently it helped.

But by and large those who are in the military are more free of co-morbidities compared to civilian society ( because they are screened against such things during recruitment ), which is why even before the vaccines were made available, there were far fewer deaths among U.S. military personnel, percentage-wise, than in the rest of society, Jon.
As for the vast majority of the masks being provided by most entities to use as "protection",
they do not, and never have, stopped the spread of viruses.
Any ( honest ) surgeon will tell you that, and that's why they stay home when they are sick.
About all they are good for is covering coughs and sneezes.
As in other places where I mentioned this, anyone who is a veteran or active duty with NBC training can tell you what it takes to stop a virus or biological attack...
and the measures that you listed cannot do anything but slow it down a touch.
Not even vaccines are guaranteed to stop viruses and the illnesses that they cause.

That's why if I were still in the military, I would expect to either be processed out, or obey the orders of those over me in the chain of command...
and that would include the President of the United States, whether or not I agree with his policies.
That's what we signed on for, and that's what we were expected to have to do... Obey orders and be ready for whatever came at us.
We didn't have a choice under the UCMJ.
Now that I'm no longer under that code, I have a choice and I would prefer to keep it, Lord willing.

They were not screened for viruses (I'm sure they are for covid). MEPS does screen for a few things (I had a one when I was the Sr GC at Nashville MEPS who came up HIV positive and several who came up pregnant). But diseases like measles, the flu, etc. are not checked.Apparently.

Masks are good for preventing you from spreading a virus if you are sick, and I suppose offers at least some protection if you are not (since a P95 mask is rated 10PF at stopping alpha particles....basically a helium atom)...but the protection is low.
The military enforced masks and social distancing. At Ft. Gordon they limited capacity.
I think they will just discharge those who refuse the vaccine.

You just made my point, I think.
Compared to the rest of society, military members are pretty much the cream of the crop, heath-wise.
They have to be.
That's why only 24 deaths up to March of 2021, IMO.
To respond to the OP,
If a Navy surgeon, whose task it is to monitor the health of a force that's trained and expected to be ready to fight is advocating stepping back and being cautious about this mRNA technology, then it's got my attention.

I have no doubt that they will.
After all, adverse side effects and myocarditis or not, an order is an order... and anyone not following orders is subject to NJP at the least.
But I'm reminded of some of the things used during the Vietnam Conflict,
and that soldiers were not told about the effects of, since those effects weren't really known back then...
Now, years later, many of those veterans suffer from neurological diseases caused by "Agent Orange", and other chemicals and things that they were subjected to, under orders.
There's two sides to this,
and it seems very few are seriously considering the long-term effects of these vaccines that they are only now beginning to gather real empirical data on.

I think we have to look at total numbers (52 cases), but that is still low. .021% mortality rate....excluding other DOD/ military employees.
Still, for an armed service chancing illness and even a preventable .021% death rate is serious. I mean, think about ground guides every time we entered the area.
I am also glad I don't have to bother with UCMJ anymore.

What if those reactions and long-term effects gather steam and things get worse, and we find out that testing on laboratory animals and small numbers of volunteers weren't good enough to determine what these will do in living, breathing human beings over time?
I would not want to be responsible for that.
The doctor in the video is Dr.Lee Merritt, an orthopedic surgeon in Onawa IA affiliated with Burgess Health Center. She was is not a Navy surgeon (I think I had read she did her medical training in the Navy, though) but did serve on the Naval Research Advisory Committee.
Her current status is "Not out to lunch, currently engaged in fighting the fake Covid takedown of our world."

We can't play "what ifs". Myocarditis is a listed sife-effect and the number has not exceeded the expectation. I think it will always be a side-effect....but maybe they can learn to anticipate the reaction?

In the following interview, Dr. Lee Merritt explains that mRNA technology is not a vaccine, mirroring what Dr. David Martin also stated recently.
In animal studies, after mRNA injections have been administered to cats, when the virus arrived once again into the body, it arrived like a Trojan Horse, undetected by the cats’ own immune system. The virus multiplied unchallenged and all animals involved in the experiment died from various causes.

SARS-CoV-1, is a coronavirus species], instead of killing the virus or weakening it, the immune response that they built into your system when out and codded the virus, so the virus came into the cat’s body like a Trojan Horse, unseen by the cat’s own immune system, and then it replicated without checking and killed the cat with overwhelming sepsis and cardiac failure. And that [also] happened in ferrets, that happened every time they tried this.
Let me just point out. We have never made it through an animal study successfully for this type of virus.
We have never done this in humans before… We don’t really have a track record of success.
This vaccine was rolled out to distribution centers before they even made a show of caring about the FDA approving it. Do you realize that?

You can yak all you want about the safety, effectiveness, longevity etc. about the vax, but, BUT, until time has passed, records kept (accurate - w/o political influence!), studied & analyzed, LONG TERM EFFECTS WILL NOT BE KNOWN!!!!!

The reason I provided the video is because the OP did not list the speakers name or the venue.
For those who consider Dr. Merrit a reputable authority on viruses and/ or vaccines, or who consider America's Frontline Doctors as a reputable source, the video may provide more content and context.
For those who consider Dr. Merritt and America's Frontline Doctors as unreliable, agenda-driven propaganda providing the name of the doctor in the OP and the source will also provide context.

But it is an orthopedic surgeon who states she is anti-covid-vax because she is at war with the entities trying to take over the world.
The OP is not lying....just not being forthright about the motivations behind the video.
Of course Jon, no one is forthright except you. The Dr. explained her Navy credentials first off in the OP. They just approved the booster, but looks like you got lucky & are not high risk. Pfizer must be ticked. All because FDA voted 16-3 against approving it, but CDC did it anyway. More emergency use, eh?
Not so. Most videos have the names of the presenters along with a description of the event (e.g., John MacArthur, Shepherd's Confrence 2019). In fact, it is rare for the information to be excluded.
I don't think Pfizer is ticked (we are not the only market and per FDA will most likely be approved for boosters in the future). And since Pfizer is (at this time) the only FDA approved covid vaccine they corner the market for several areas where employers are requiring a safer work environment (like the military).
