Yes, the brawl was that bad. It was embarrasing to the Pacers, the Pistons, Detroit and the entire NBA.

Shaq has not been playing since he had a bruised thigh when the Heat beat the Pacers the other night. There has been no need for him to play, as the Heat have had the Eastern Conference locked up for weeks now. They won the last two games handily without Shaq and limited time from Dwayne Wade and many other starters.

Look for the Heat to make it to the NBA finals.

Why? Do Piston fans try to minimalize the brawl? I said that the brawl was that bad and implied that it's silly to think it wasn't that bad. I'm not too worried if Mr. or Miss Piston-Fan has a problem with what I said or implied. I suspect that the majority of clear-headed, rational Piston fans were/are embarrassed that their beloved team was involved in such an ugly incident.

And how many times has that happened in the history of sports. All the arena games that go on and percentage wise how many brawls have broke out. I use to play in a christian softball tournment in Cincinati, Ohio. Dr Rawling's church every july. Huge tournement! Saw a team kick a 68 old man almost to death.
Not saying it was right or that it was not bad just not as bad as some are making it out to be. No one was hurt. No one sent to the hospital or even had a scratch. People just hear Detroit and jump on the bandwagen. This was not in Detroit it was in Auburn Hills. 50 miles or so from Detroit. I go to thier games, just went to one last friday. They play hard and are a good example of teamship and sportmanship. Listen anytime you get a bunch of men or boys competeing against each other there will be times when some loose controll. When it becomes the norm that is the time to panick not a once or twice time in 30 years.

Detroit sports fans are on the whole not a rowdy group. The trouble is you just have to mention the word Detroit and people roll there eyes.

Teams from Michigan in any sport get bad treatment in the media. That is why I loved the finals last year when the Pistons smothered the Lakers, a team that was a media darling. And I will love it this year when they do it again to the Spurs!

Why not. The Spurs have a good of a chance to win it all as any other team. They are the number 2 seed in the West and would probably have been the number 1 seed if Tim Duncan hadn't missed so many games during the regular season.

I believe there will be more interest in NBA playoffs this year. I know that I plan to watch more this year. Last few years I just watched to see LA Lakers git whipped and Jack Nickelson cry in his beer.

Thats my pt also Glory. There are people who just judge because the name Detroit gets mentioned. I don't believe the piston players have anything to be ashamed of. The fans, refs, yes but not the players. I Will say Rasheed is starting to remind me of Reggie Miller with the whining he is doing on the court though. But over all they really are a hard working team and I dare say there is not any team that handles itself any better then them. However when your winning that is a lot easier to do. So some of the teams that lose more then they win and have good sportsmanship on the floor, my hats off to you.

Detroit is the defending NBA champion and, IMHO, the title is theirs to lose. There may be better teams on paper, but Detroit has the ability to tighten their defense and STOP other teams from scoring--a rare phenomenom in the NBA. They also are aware that Larry Brown may be forced into retirement because of his health after this season. While Brown was out for surgery earlier this year, Detroit was, at best, a mediocre team. When he returned, they became dominant again. I think the players know how valuable it is to have Brown as their coach and they are very motivated to win for him. Go Pistons!

Not sure Wally. Watch them once this year I think. What do you think? Is Ming able to get a team to the finals. He doesn't seem to be real strong but then I haven't seen him that much. He is big. If Jaun was able to play I think HOuston has a team but right now I see them as a strong and upcoming team that will have to be reckon with.
I would like to see IND get put out by the celtecs. Just for the reason that it would be good not to have them come back to Detroit.

Yes they are one of the most exciting teams to watch. They do tend to play a poor first quarter though. Once they get running on all cylinders.....WATCH OUT. I agree with swaimj. The title is theirs to lose.

I live right down the road from alot of the pistions and my son saw chauncy coming out of a store. Said he stopped and stared at him. Chauncy stopped and grinned at him then went in. By the way, the homes these guys live in!!! Their garages are 2 times my house.

Yeah I know how big their houses are. My dad used to own his own lawn care company in Gross Point, where all the money is on Detroits eastside.

Steve Yzerman's neighbor was his customer for a while, as was another Red Wing for a time, and Cecil Fielder- remember him?

They all had impressive houses. Thats ok though, I have an even better dewlling place that is being prepared for me!
