4His, lets not kid ourselves LeBron is the superstar the NBA is going to market. He just doesn't have the people around him to contend with the Pistons. But he is learning some valueable things early in his career. If they get the right people around him, the Cavs will dominate the East in a few years.

Great job by the Nets in dominating the Heat last night. Riley is going to have to do somthing to get his team playing to their full potential.

I am going to pick the Nets to win this series in 7.

I will also take the Nets against Miami, maybe in 6, we'll see how game 2 goes.

The interesting battle will be the Pistons should NJ get to play them. They split their series this year 2-2 and the total points between the two teams was 324 - 336 Det; Asst/gm 20.3 - 20.8 Det; Reb/gm 45.8 - 44.5 NJ; Blks/gm 3.5 - 5.0 Det; Stls/ pg 5.8 - 5.5 NJ

You can't get much more even than this. Based on stats Detroit should have the edge but because I am not a Detroit fan I will have to take NJ in 7.

The Detroit is playing right now I would go with Pistons in 6 against NJ. The Pistons step up their play with every round of the playoffs. If they continue to shoot over 50% and play the defense they have been known for, who can beat them?

I am going to game 2 tonight of the Spurs/Mavericks with my son. I think the Spurs win this game easier than they did game 1; everyone agree?

    My prediction:

    Spurs 97
    Mavericks 85

I just don't see any way that the Spurs win by 12 tonight. They might win, but I think it would be much closer.

Don't worry about it, you see I have to give you a hard time, you are fan of KY and the Donkeys. [IMG]

It is awesome you are taking your son to the game tonight. I hope you all have a great time!

Allright guys, new prediction. My Cavaliers will get swept.

The Pistons are just too good, and the Cavs are way too inexperienced with no point guard. If we can get a defender or two and a true point guard...maybe next year [IMG]

I still think the Cavs can win one game at home. Goodness the Bucks even won one game.

The Mavs are looking really good tonight!

    The Spurs got spanked!

How did it look on TV? Live, it looked like the Spurs got some real bad calls, but no way that is why they lost; they just got beat. The good news is I don't think home court will be a major advantage since they are so close to each other. Isn't it crazy that game 3 is not until Saturday?

</font>[/QUOTE]That lose was certainly a surprise. I think that perhaps Dallas is underrated as much as it pains me to say. SA will have to step things up a notch going into the Mavs home turf. They will have to win at least one there to win this series.

But the Pistons won again as expected. Lebron played better and actually socred 30 points, but it really did not matter. He is going to have to learn to play better defense.

To me it looked like the Spurs were old and tired. Avery Johnson putting Devin Harris into the starting lineup and putting Jason Terry at the 2 guard was a huge adjustment and gave the Spurs fits all night. The Mavs outplayed them in every area of the game.

I don't think homecourt is going to make much difference in this series either. I think both teams can win on the road.

I don't like that the next game isn't until Saturday. That is too much time off inbetween games. Give them 2 days off and then play again.

Did your son enjoy going to the game?

wow am I jealous! I would have loved to be at that game. If I am San Antonio I am a bit nervous - the Mavs at least think that they were one three pointer away from being up 2-0 the spurs are just thankful to be tied. I never expected the Mavs to beat the Spurs that bad in San Antonio - and Dirk didn't even do much. Josh Howard really came through last night, he is a real key to this series both on offense and defense. The Spurs are kicking themselves in the san antonio paper today for not taking him in the draft when they had the chance (they picked on slot ahead of dallas that year and thought that he and Manu were to similar so they traded the pick)

All that said - I think it is a seven gamer, and that the Spurs pick one off in Dallas as well.

as to the officiating - I think the spurs went to the line at least as often as dallas, and as usual in the post season, Dirk does not get the line nearly as often as he does in the regular season. The offensive charging call on Duncan (against my man Josh) looked to be the correct call, howard was set and outside the arc when duncan ran over him for his third foul. I think that was the key call of the game!

Clips downed the Suns last night and did so soundly. This could be a great series. Anyone think it will go seven games?

Sadly, the Heat bounced back too.

I think any of the series except the Pistons/Cavs could go 7 games.

Some Cavs fans think differently. I think Lebron is great, but he is not there yet and he needs to be surrounded by better players. Jordan lost his first few playoff series too if I remember correctly, and those loses made him a better player. Hopefully James will learn from this experience.

You are probably right and if they do it should help the Pistons win it all... as if they needed help.

Even though I like SA, I still think the Mavs and Pistons will meet in the finals.

I am trying not to whine that much, but I think the Spurs got some horrible calls late in the game in critical moments. I think the Mavs are still on the free throw line shooting foul shots. Let's hope the Spurs come out Monday and start playing like they did in the 2nd half of last nights game. If they lose on Monday, they are in serious trouble.

    GO SPURS GO!!!
