Looks like we're getting an early snow system this year in the mountains of NC.

We typically don't get snow until End of November/Early December although the older folks can remember times when the snows started earlier.

Yikes!

Winter is coming.

Ever since the winter of 76-77 I dread the thought of extended frigid temps.

Yep we have had "CLIMATE CHANGES(?)) for decades & I suspect millennia.
I can remember in late 50s going to f-ball games in Oct-Nov & you needed 'bout all you could wear just to keep from getting some part of you frost-bit.
Then in '65 I was looking for a job & had to keep the car AC on to keep from burning up - mid Dec.!!
Then sometime mid 70s Had such a cold winter I amused myself several times going out on my porch in the quiet of a snow covered evening listening to pines crack from ice/snow build up.
Glad they (??) decided that the climate was actually CHANGING, not just warming!!!
I remember sometime, probably late 70s, early 80s, some environmental idiot was castigating humanity for the ecology destruction when he brought up endangered species. His premise was that - in Europe in particular - the species destruction was so bad that over half of SPECIES there had died off that we've never known about!!

NC is NOT authorized any snow until Upstate NY has at least a dozen inches! Maybe this season we will break the 200 inch mark.

During the Syracuse, 92-93 season - 192.1 inches
During the Fulton, 1995-96 season 273.9

Note: Fulton is about 30 miles NW of Syracuse.

A lot of the snow is due to Lake Effect

Been there…and Albany, Buffalo, Utica, Rochester, Corning, Elmira. NY was a territory I had to get moving to increase the numbers and it was difficult to say the least. Plattsburgh was the coldest and Syracuse was the snowiest. Every day grey sky and snow. Made me long for Scranton :Laugh
