Ummmm, I like them both. I think I would have to say Scrooge though because the story really makes you do some thinking.

"Miracle on 34th St." or "It's a Wonderful Life"?

I gotta go with Miracle on 34th st. We watch the black and white version at least once a year. I like Jimmy Stewart but this movie is a one time see movie for me.

Do you have a hammock or a swing in your yard that you actually use?

Bought a hammock once at a yard sale - don't remember using it - but maybe someone in the family did once or twice.

It finally went to the landfill - where lots of other stuff we thought we just had to have - has ended up.

Do you water your lawn or do you trust the Lord to do it for you? ;)

We bought a house that had a sprinkler system built in. We had forgot about it being there till one morning my son had to be at school by 6am to go on a soccer trip. At 5:15 we walked out to sprinklers going off everywhere. We continue to use it, but not every day.

    Do you fondu?

I trust the Lord NOT to do it. ;) If I trust him to water the lawn then I HAVE to cut it. [IMG]

Have you cut your grass yet?

Do you prune your own trees or hire it done?

I hired a tree service company about a year ago to cut down the last two trees we had in our lawn. No leaves to rake last fall - loved it.

Now my wife - who is allergic to everything that God created - wants some more trees. They have to be tall enough to give some shade - but not so tall that they will damage the roofs on the house. They have to have leaves enough to give shade - but not so many leaves that they need raking in the fall. [ Bold - her requirements non-bold - my requirements]

Of course if she would sign a notarized document that she would be willing to rake the leaves - I might consent to putting in some trees. This is not a "when pigs fly" like the swimming pool is - but I surely intend to drag my size 14 feet a whole lot. :D :D :D

Do you bag your lawnmowing clippings - or do you let God take care of them. (I now bag - makes the lawn look better. [IMG] )

I use a bag. The hard part is emptying it into a garbage bag. I always end up having to put my hand in and pull the compacted grass out of it. Plus I don't seem to be tall enough or strong enough, so I have to stand on my tip-toes while trying to shake out the contents. Not having a bag isn't an option, my grass is fescue, it's really thick...if I left the clippings on the grass, it would cause the other grass to die from lack of sunlight...plus it's really messy when the kids track it into the house.

What is your favorite tree? (I have two, Birch and Plum)

We love oak trees. The old oaks on the southeast coast of Georgia are Huge. We climbed many of them as children and now are kids are climbing the same ones.

When writing do you prefer to print or write in cursive?

I prefer to type. Okay, that wasn't one of your options...I never print...I'm in too much of a hurry. Interestingly though, my father never uses cursive.

    What inspires you?

My accountant. He inspires me to be a better Christian. He's not perfect, but he's always got a word; not boastful, but confident. He's a deacon in his church, loves his family and makes me strive to be a better Christian.

Do you keep up with your friends from High School?

A few. One stood me up a few months back and hasn't returned any of my phone calls or e-mails, so I don't know what's going on there. But I just went to one friend's son's first birthday party on Saturday. We had lost tough for a while (had a huge fight when I moved out of our apartment), then found each other (and apologized), then lost touch yet again, but now we chat over e-mail every week. [IMG] I'll actually be going to a reunion for my high school's beautyshop quartet (it began 10 years ago, and all of us who were in a group will be getting together to sing s few pieces at the spring concert), so I hope to get back in touch with a few of them.

How often do you see your parents/siblings?

Dad passed away Feb 2002 - but Mom is still with us. I see her several times a week - as she is a member of the church I pastor.

Brother - three to five times a year. He lives 70 miles away.

Sister #1 - currently lives 5 miles away - will soon live 25 miles away - she did live in same town - saw her then 3-4 times a month - will probably see her a lot less when she moves again.

Sister #2 - lives 22 miles away - see her 2 - 4 times a month - she is a member of the church I pastor - see her there most when her schedule permits her to be in church.

I suppose it would be better to see them more - but everyone is busy.

What thread to you go to first when you log on?
(I usually go to this one - love it!! [IMG] )

PS - I let Jan (wife) read the "When pigs fly" comment about swimming pools - she whacked me on my bald spot!!  :(

I usually go to the "All Discussion" first. I will visit around the rest of the BB. Recently I have found that there are too many overly confrontational post vs post. Many of those have swaggered so far from the original topic that anything you would like to add would probably just be ignored. I would like to see the Music Ministry forum be a ministry forum or change the name to music preference forum.

Why do you think there is so much ego in some of the other threads?

Because so many feel the need to be right all the time even when they are wrong.

Thanks Sue, Now that Jeanne is feeling better I'll probably be back on the BB more often.

    What is your favorite beverage?

The ride home. [IMG] I've been to disney world several times as a youth. My favorite ride was Space Mountain. One visit we rode it 12 times. The Pirates of the Carribean is also a favorite.

If you go to the fair, do you eat the food there?

Some of it. I love baklava, so I avoid it at the fair,
because it is such a poor excuse for baklava. I
don't like their burgers, because they are greasy.
I don't do their hotdogs unless they are kosher.
They put so much ice in the pop that there is little
pop in the cup, so I will buy it from a machine, if
there is one that sells Pepsi.

I skip all that and head straight for the Pete's
Barbecue, where the food is real. I order chicken,
which comes with fair sauce, a half-ear of corn-
on-the-cob, and baked beans without pork. Other
than that, I may eat an elephant ear.

But I have not been to the fair while dieting yet. 8oO
This year, it may be different.

I liked the Minnesota State Fair Better.

When is your state fair there?

Our County Fair is always the last week of July and the State Fair is held the first two weeks of August.

(The main reason I go to the fair is to EAT!)
