Oh, wow. I don't know! Probably cream of potato, although I like to cook with golden mushroom.

Do you like listening to live music?

depends on the music, sometimes it is too loud.

we had a lovely afternoon browsing books and having afternoon tea at our favourite christian book in a small country town not too far away.
do you have a favourite coffee shop/christian book shop?

I spend a fair bit of time in XandO (which pronunciation is constantly under controversy - many people say it "zan-doh," but it should be "ecks and oh" from the way it's spelled, what with the capitalization of the "O"). They have "make your own s'mores," which is always fun, and the North Dupont Circle location is a great spot for people watching. Kramerbooks is down the block, and that's a fun bookstore (and the restaurant in the back is nice, too).

When I don't feel like schlepping into town, I just head to Starbucks.

    Q: How trusting are you?

"How trusting are you?" Too trusting for my own good. My trusting people, because that is how I am, has gotten me burned more times than you would believe. But the alternative is to become synical and jaded. So I would rather take the risk and remain trusting.

"Will you be attending a Good Friday service?" Good Friday is primarily a Catholic observance in my area, so...no.

Do you have faith in peoples hidden potential? Or are you jaded?

Faith in people's hidden potential? I try to. I think I am jaded to some extent (cough*trust issues*cough), but usually am able to find the hidden potentials. Or at least find the strength in what some people see as weaknesses. For example, a friend of mine is dyslexic and has trouble reading. It frustrates her to no end that I can finish a book faster than she can, but as a result, she has much better retention, since she really sits with each word and sentence, and is also extremely patient, largely because of how much patience she has to have with herself. I don't know if that's finding hidden potentials or not, but it's what I do.

Q: How often do you vacation?

Weekly! 8oD I am serious! I am not trying to push
my beliefs off on anyone, but every Sabbath
makes me feel like I have been on a vacation.

In reality regarding vacations, we get 6 weeks
each year, so we take off for the ocean or the
mountains evey chance we get. Sometimes,
    although rarely, we take two weeks at a time;
usually, we take one at a time and spread them
    out.

A real vacation for me each year is for me to

A real vacation for me each year is for me to
sit on a beach somewhere tropical. (not that I've been on a real vacation since I met my husband the workaholic)

Have you ever been on a cruise?

Nope. Never. I'd love to go on an Alaskan cruise, though! When I'm at the shore, I love to just get up late and sit on the deck and let the ocean breeze go through my hair and go down on the beach. I don't know that a beachy type cruise would do to me.

Q: Do you and your family eat your evening meal early or late?

We usually eat around 8pm after everyone gets home. On the weekends we try to eat by 6:30. We grill out and have friends or family over.

Are you watching TV right now? If so, what's on?

Guess it doesn't matter - it's like Potaaato or Potahto - I suppose it depends on which part of the country you come from - either way - with either vegetable - they both taste real goooood! :D

    For Gina's question - 18 years worth!!!

What is your favorite news network? (mine is Fox News Channel)

Sky news, on the internet. http://www.sky.com/skynews/worldnews
I've found them to be reliable and usually has news before other stations.

What was the first thing you ever heard on the news that just really got your attention and made you listen to it carefully for the first time?

The day John F. Kennedy was shot! I will never forget where I was or what I was doing or how shocked I was that day!

I only listen to the radio when I'm in the car.

When you are in the house; do you listen to radio, CD, TV or nothing?

Usually I pop in a CD, but sometimes I'll turn on the telly instead. I don't necessaily watch it, but I like the background noise. With music, I want to sing along, so if I'm trying to concentrate on something, I can't listen to music.

Neither one. I know how those things aggravate me when I call somebody, so I don't have one on my phone.

    How do you handle telemarketers?

Wow. I've not been without some sort of automated message taking device in 20 years.

With telemarketers, I very politely (at the first breath they take, if they take on, that is) say I'm not interested, and if they persist, I repeat myself once, say I'm ending the conversation, then hang up. Although, one trick I've learned is to, whenever anyone asks for me by my full name, ask, "whom shall I say is calling?" They usually hang up.

Q: Do you ever make up words?

I do on occasion. I enjoy words. A nitta, for
example, is a word only my daughter and I
shared, and it's definition is someone who thinks
they know everything. I needed a simple word
for her, when she was a girl, and she walked to
school with a girl who believed she knew
everything. In frustration, then, Jennifer told the
little girl, "Oh, Betsy! You're such a nitta!" The
little girl, rather than ask what the word meant,
answered in her characteristic way, "I know."

We use 60w in most of the house and there are some lamps we use 40w. We lived in an apartment before buying a house. The apt had no lights on the ceilings and few windows. Since buying a home we have many windows and enjoy the natural light.

Do you rely heavily on a microwave?
