Thanks for calling me Spurgeon! And the answer I just gave you was from the word of God. So if you have problem, then it's not with what I say but with what God says, and that is something you and the Lord will have to work out.:type:

Oh, it was facetious, I assure you.

Spurgeon was a giant of the faith. You're an admitted and demonstrated liar who wouldn't know the Bible if you tripped over it.

"Judas hanged himself...go ye therefore and do likewise". That's from the Bible, too.

No, actually, it's with your abuse of God's word.

And your habitual lying is something you and the Lord will have to work out.

God wiped the earth out once because it was corrupt, (see Genesis 6:11-13) so are you telling me that something God said is corrupt is ok for you to listen to?

ROFL. So we're against "world music" now too? World music is simply a broad category for folk or ethnic music composed outside of the European musical tradition. A sitar or a didgeridoo are no more "corrupt" than a guitar or an organ.

I think we all agree that new age music is wrong...

Well, no. "New Age" is a musical genre comprising elements of electronic music, soft jazz, and world music - essentially it is high-class, relaxing muzak. As Mike pointed out, a marketing category has little, if anything, to do with "new age" religion.

and we're back to the underbelly of much of the more rabid anti-CCM crowd...it's based in racism for some: "Music that comes from Black Africa is evil."

Not accusing JCH of that...just pointing out that you can't ignore the "sons of Ham" garbage that is an undercurrent to some of this movement.

I can't tell you how many times I've heard that garbage...even on this board.

Mck finally does what he himself does ..gives the artist credit

Wow! it takes you this long to do the right thing ...I am only using your standards Mck of bragging on the artist as an admonishment.

Disagree with the label by the way ...God in his sovereignty will decide what is good and not good and will minister individually to people with this song or not to people with this song. The bottom line she cares about Gods creation.

This is probably one of the most intelligent statements I've seen on the thread.

We ifb'ers are good at throwing libels (er, labels) at any one and any thing we do not like or think agrees with our position. When I was little it was "liberal" and in the 60's moved toward "eccumenical". In the 70's it was "humanist" and in 80's it shifted to "neo". The 90's catchword of hate was "CCM".

    Now it is "new age".

I'm thinking the next is "Purpose Driven", but not sure.

Western white music with our familiar scale, meter and instruments is godly. Anything from China, India or >gasp< Africa is not just "suspect"; it is "satanic". We all know that. Strom Thurmond would be proud . .
