New covenant scriptures

And this is the kinda answer i get when i ask the question why do these scriptures all say "keep my commandments". A song and dance. No direct answer to a direct question.

No this is not a song and a dance but the CONTEXTUAL FACTS that scripture will support. The spirit of prophecy, all prophecy, Old or New scriptures is the Christ (Rev. 19:11).

You jerk texts out of their proper context and that is the only way you can defend you THEORY of interpretation.

Paul explicitly states that faith is not of the law (Gal. 3:12) and yet you consistently attempt to mix them in order to come up with your position.

The law sets forth the standard for all mankind - sinless perfection is that standard (Jm 2:10; Mt. 5:48; Rom. 3:23). Man is flawed and is incapable by nature to measure up to that standard (Rom. 3:9-18) and therefore it is impossible for man to be justified by the law according to what he can do (Rom. 3:19-23). However, it is perfectly consistent that Jesus and biblical writers point all men to the demands of the law for justification when those individuals approach this question exclusively by their own works - "what must I DO to obtain eternal life." The only biblical response available for such a person who comes to God in such a manner with such a question is "do this and live." However, every attempt to "do this and live" will only demonstrate they always COME SHORT (Rom. 3:23) and cannot be justified by the law according to this method (Rom. 3:19-20). Hence, this drives them deeper into sin or away from the law to Christ to find justification by faith in His person and works rather than in their person and works.

Hence, this is the reason Jesus became a man - but a SINLESS man - in order to act as another representative head (Rom. 5:12-19) and justification by faith in His person and in His works of obedience is the basis of justification before God (Rom. 3:24-27). Hence, justification by faith is not of justification by the law (Gal. 3:10-12) and must be distinguished or else you come up with your kind of messed up position that marries the law with faith.

Well what the real deal here Chowmah? Do you want everybody to keep the 10 commandments and go to church on Saturday? What are you driving at?

REV. 14 [12] Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS of God, and THE FAITH OF JESUS.

HEBREWS 11 [28] THROUGH FAITH HE KEPT THE PASSOVER, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.

I dont mix them. I didnt write the book. Your interpretation is obviously skewed

If your right in your interpretation, why does scripture above say what it says? Will i get a direct answer this time?

Chowmah, if you dont somehow get a grip on the difference between the "old covenant" and the "new covenant" you will be in confusion for the entirety of your christian life.
God bless.

AiC

Below you will find nothing but "new covenant" scriptures. The "many" seem to believe they dont say what they say. Are you amoung the "many"? Please explain why they dont really say what they say.

DO YOU WANT ETERNAL LIFE
MATT.19 [16] And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?[17] And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS.[18] He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,

DO YOU KNOW GOD
1 JOHN 2 [1] My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: [2] And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. [3] And hereby we do know that we know him, if we KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. [4] He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

HAVE YOU BEEN TAUGHT “JUST BELIEVE” AND YOU WILL BE SAVED
JAMES 2 [19] Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: THE DEVILS ALSO BELIEVE, and tremble.

DO YOU LOVE GOD
1 JOHN 5 [1] Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. [2] By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. [3] For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

DO YOU WANT GODS HOLY SPIRIT
JOHN 14 [15] If ye love me, KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS.[16] And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;[17] Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

HAS HEAVEN AND EARTH PASSED – YIKES! WHAT AM I STANDING ON?
MATT.5 [17] Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.[18] For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

WANT TO BE ONE OF GODS SAINTS
REV.14 [12] Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS of God, and the faith of Jesus

BEEN TAUGHT DUE TO FAITH WE NEED NOT KEEP GODS COMMANDMENTS
ROMANS 3 [31] Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

WANT TO ENTER THE CITY - THE 1000yr PERIOD OF REST
REV.22 [14] Blessed are they that DO HIS COMMANDMENTS, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city

IS GODS SABBATH COMMANDMENT GRIEVOUS TO YOU
1JOHN.5 [1] Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.[2] By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.[3] For this is the love of God, that WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS: AND HIS COMMANDMENTS ARE NOT GRIEVOUS

Well what the real deal here Chowmah? Do you want everybody to keep the 10 commandments and go to church on Saturday? What are you driving at?

Well...you cant keep the commandments unless you do. Ask James.

HEBREWS 13 [8] Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Does this new testament scripture really mean what it says chadman?

PROVERBS 24 [19] Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked;[20] For there shall be no reward to the evil man; THE CANDLE OF THE WICKED SHALL BE PUT OUT.[21] My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: and MEDDLE NOT WITH THEM THAT ARE GIVEN TO CHANGE:[22] For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?

PSALM 89 [30] IF HIS CHILDREN FORSAKE MY LAW, and walk not in my judgments; [31] If they break my statutes, AND KEEP NOT MY COMMANDMENTS; [32] Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes. [33] Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail. [34] MY COVENANT WILL I NOT BREAK, NOR ALTER the thing that is gone out of my lips.

The "many" believe that Gods 4th commandment has been altered. Do you?

ECCLES. 3 [14] I know that, WHATSOEVER GOD DOETH, IT SHALL BE FOR EVER: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him. [15] That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.

MALACHI 3 [2] BUT WHO MAY ABIDE THE DAY OF HIS COMING? AND WHO SHALL STAND WHEN HE APPEARETH? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:[3] And he shall sit as a refiner and purifer of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.[4] Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the LORD, as in the days of old, and as in former years.[5] And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.[6] FOR I AM THE LORD, I CHANGE NOT;

But who may abide the day of his coming? Yeah! The day He sets up His Kingdom. Well, in the old testament you find that Lord does not change also. So why do the “many” believe that their god is a wishy washy God. Changing continually.

Old testament – keep the sabbath
New testament – dont bother
1000 yr rest (in the Kingdom) – Gotta keep the sabbath again (scripture below)

ISAIAH 66 [22] For as the NEW HEAVENS AND THE NEW EARTH, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain. [23] And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and FROM ONE SABBATH TO ANOTHER, shall ALL FLESH COME TO WORSHIP BEFORE ME, saith the Lord.

So has the sabbath been changed or altered? The "many" make that claim. But i gotta believe that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever

You say that Jesus became a man. Do you also believe He was fully God while on this earth? (please a simple yes or no) IwreckNsow. Hence......

The New Covenant is established with Abraham's Spiritual seed of Faith, the Church, with Christ the Head of the Church shedding His Blood for it.

Matt 28:

28For this is my blood of the new testament or covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

The same blood here acts 20:

28Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Yeah savedbymercy its all about the blood. Before Christ (old covenant) it was the blood of animals (the shadow) but now its the blood of Christ (new covenant)

You referring to the Day of Atonement? That was a community event which atoned for the sins of the community. Does the blood of Jesus atone for the entire community?

The individual sacrifices only covered unintentional sins. There was no sacrifice for an intentional felony. The person had to die.

Anyway, the "new covenant" concept is a Christian concept. The covenants are cumulative, not replacements for previous covenants. This confuses Christians because some covenants are conditional and others are unconditional. Some unilateral and some bilateral.

For example, the Mosaic Covenant has no application to gentiles in the Bronx. Brooklyn, maybe <G>

You referring to the Day of Atonement?

In the old testament youll find the meat and drink offerings in the new moons, feast days and the sabbath

This text does not teach what you are forcing it to teach! This text does not say they kept the commandments in order to obtain heaven! That is your inference that you read into this text. This text distinguishes between keeping the commandments "AND" the faith of Jesus but you do not distinguish them. No bible text teaches your position. Every text you quote you jerk out of context or infer what is not stated.

Heres the directions to the 1000yr period of rest

PSALM 132 [11] The Lord hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne. [12] If thy children will keep MY COVENANT AND MY TESTIMONY that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon thy throne for evermore. [13] FOR THE LORD HATH CHOSEN ZION; HE HATH DESIRED IT FOR HIS HABITATION. [14] THIS IS MY REST FOR EVER: HERE WILL I DWELL; FOR I HAVE DESIRED IT. [15] I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread. [16] I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy. [17] There will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed.

PSALM 25 [9] The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. [10] ALL THE PATHS OF THE LORD ARE MERCY AND TRUTH UNTO SUCH AS KEEP HIS COVENANT AND HIS TESTIMONIES. [11] For thy name's sake, O Lord, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great. [12] What man is he that feareth the Lord? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose. [13] His soul shall dwell at ease; and HIS SEED SHALL INHERIT THE EARTH.

Here again. No goin to heaven. Right here on Gods green earth

EXOD.34

You prove my point. You jump from Revelation to Psalms. When you can't deal with the evidence you jump to another text.

Again, you confuse promises based upon OLD COVENANT terms with New Covenant salvation. This is a fundemental flaw in your forced manipulation of texts. Old Covenant promises are based upon keeping commandments PEFECTLY without sin and thus unattainable by any human being but Christ. However, that is the covenant Israel entered into and that is the covenant that Jews in Christ day still believed they could perform (JUST LIKE YOU) but which they clearly could not and neither can you. Failure is to drive them to Christ and the new covenant promises.

Entrance into heaven is obtained under the New Covenant by the obedience of Christ in the sinners behalf while all personal obedience obtains present blessings and eternal rewards in heaven.

EPHES. 2 [11] Wherefore remember, that ye being IN TIME PAST GENTILES in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; [12] That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and STRANGERS FROM THE COVENANTS OF PROMISE, having no hope, and without God in the world: [13] But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. [14] For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

No confusion here. We were once strangers from Gods covenants of promise, having no hope. But now in Christ, should we take hold of those covenants, we have hope. Whats so hard to understand

Chowmah, you have to view those scriptures in the Light of the whole of Gods council regarding this very important topic.

To say that christians are still under the ((DEATH GRIP)) of the the Old covenant Law, is a MAMMOTH error. A severe error.

Here is some scriptural thruth that will help you greatly regarding this tremendous error you are clinging to....

Rom 3:19 Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be closed and all the world may become accountable to God; (NASB)

Rom 6:14-15 For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace. What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it never be! (NASB)

The Law is no longer our guardian (tutor, schoolmaster)!
Gal 3:23-26 Now before faith came, we were held captive under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith would be revealed. So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith. But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian, for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. (ESV)

Gal 4:4-5 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. (ESV)

The Law is for lost sinners in need of salvation!
Gal 3:24 Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith.
(NASB)

1Ti 1:8-11 Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully, understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine, in accordance with the glorious gospel of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted. (ESV)

Christ desires that we live in freedom!
Gal 5:1 For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. (ESV)

Gal 5:18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.
(NASB)

The Grace of God is not a license to Sin!
Rom 6:1-2 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? (ESV)

Tit 2:11-15 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works. (ESV)

Aren't we supposed to live under the "moral" Law?
Clearly the Believer has been set free from the bondage of attempting to live by the Ten commandments. The problem is with us - not God's law. We have no power in ourselves to keep the law, and that is why Jesus kept it for us, nailed it to the cross, and offers us His free gift of righteousness. Theologians like to refer to the moral, civil and ceremonial components of the Law to make the case that we are still under the moral code. This dissecting of the Law cannot be substantiated from Scripture ... the O.T. Law is always a complete body to be adhered to in its entirety!

Interestingly, the moral principles of the O.T. Law are all repeated as commands in the New Testament ... but these need to be filtered through a proper understanding of God's grace. Under grace, it is no longer about the externals; it is all about being led internally by His indwelling Spirit to lead a godly life of obedience (Titus 2:11-12, Gal. 5:18). Rules and principles often define what is right and wrong, but setting our mind on them becomes a legalistic, burdensome focus. Instead, we are to set our minds on Christ and allow His divine life to flow in and through us as we learn to grow in His grace and walk in His love (2Pet.1:3-4, Col.1:29)!

"Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, who has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

Again you make the same fundemental error. Both covenants (old and New) held forth the same promise of eternal life and heaven but on different terms. The terms of the Old Covenant was "do this and live" which the Bible clearly states is impossible for fallen man (Rom. 3:19-20). This impossibility was designed to drive fallen man to the terms of the New Covenant and the Messiah who merited the promise. The terms of the New Covenant is "repent and believe the gospel" or the "good news" that Jesus Christ satisfied the demands of God's standard of righteousness and paid the sin penalty. Only the New covenant provides the "in Christ" sphere of "good news" for fallen mankind. In Ephesians 1-2 and in particularly the text you have chosen Paul is dealing with "the promise" of eternal life and heaven NOT from the terms of the Old Covenant but rather from the terms of the New Covenant or "in Christ."

You fundementally make the same mistake over and over again, you point out that "the promise" of both covenants is the same but fail to clearly see the terms of both covenants are not the same and yet you present the terms of the Old Covenant as the terms of the New Covenant. That is a fundemental misunderstanding of the entire scriptures. As long as you make this fundemental error you will do nothing but pervert the scriptures.
