Honestly, I haven't read the book (even with DH teaching a class on that twice!), but from what I understand, he's got a track on how to make a ministry successful or something like that. It's not his PDL stuff. I'm sure the synagogue didn't hire him to teach his PDL stuff!

OK - I looked at the article in the Jewish Journal and it says:

"It is Drucker’s theory of “management by objectives” that Warren replicates in every endeavor — translating long-term objectives into more immediate goals. Here let’s pause to consider that Jews are learning to reorganize thier faith from a Christian who was mentored by a Jew."

"“It’s the individual cells that make the body,” he told the Sinai crowd. All his church’s endeavors — from working to cure diseases in African villages to reinventing houses of worship — work according to a model that parcels larger goals into smaller ones, empowering believers to take action along the way."\

"Along the way, he described in detail how he organized a national Purpose Driven Church campaign to get some 30,000 houses of worship across the world to define and implement their mission. He also punctuated his anecdotes with simple statements about God’s role in our lives: “God created you to love you,” he said, “and to love him back.”"

There's teaching the Gospel and then there's teaching management, organization, vision, purpose and such. THAT is what I was talking about. Hey, he could probably go into our local hospital and teach them stuff - or go into a university and teach them stuff. Much of what he's learned in growing a church from one family to a huge organization carries over to other areas of the world. That's OK if he goes out to teach others how to be successful like he was. Of course, they don't have the kind of blessing that God will give to His children, but that's OK. They can utilize the ideas and try anyway!

Yet, you have offered no truth. In this very thread, you reacted when someone made conclusions about a witnessing expereince you had. You were upset that they made these conclusions having not been there.

But in your "discernment" of RW, you have offered incomplete videos, hearsay, and some kind of comment about a church that was supposedly based on PDC. Churches which claim to be PDC are about as wide and varied as churches that claim to be "bible preaching." I don't throw out the Bible just because those yahoos in Topeka claim to have based their church on it. The closest actual witness of RW you have seems to be a downloaded message which was too "feel good." That makes me wonder if a sermon about how happy the poor will be when they inherit the earth would be too "feel good" for you, but that's beside the point.

May I ask, why you will accept such a low standard of evidence in this case? Repeatedly, I have asked that Christians try to rise about the standards even of the world. Repeatedly I have pointed out that the Bible calls us to higher standards when bringing accusations against an elder. You yourself objected when the same level was used against you.

I have yet to hear anyone from Saddleback enter this discussion. I haven't heard anyone from any of the mentioned PDC events. Unless they do, I'm not sure anyone really has an accusation, or even a "discenrmnet" that meets biblical muster.

There is a holy tension for lack of a better term that must exist.

The Holy Spirit can certainly work in my absence or in spite of me, but I really want to be used by Him not used in spite of me.

The older I get the more I realize that relationships must exist - but this is where that holy tension comes in. I cannot sacrifice the gospel for the relationship. BUT I must build the relationship for the sake of sharing the gospel. There are some fine, fine lines that must be walked.

Does this mean that the gospel will never be shared without a relationship being build. NO. There are times when it is plainly clear that the gospel must be shared on the spot. Most of the time this is not the case however.

    Humbly submitted,
    Bitsy

You won't either. They wouldn't dare show their faces here. They'd get gunned down in a minute. Shoot first, then ask questions, that's our BB way!

If you have anything better to offer to back up what you say, please do so. I have offered what has been available to me. So, therefore, it's up to you to back up what you say. If you have "complete" videos, why not share? Do some research and show us what you got.

Linda: Here is the interview (that was posted in my OP) in it's entirety. I just now found the link. You might want to read it. It came straight from the man himself.
