New KJV

No, no one is presuming. We've looked it up in really old dictionaries. It had a different semantic range back then than it did now, and evidence of that has been shown, including quotes from Shakespeare given.

I have posted the English definition of this word from a common dictionary today, to which shows it has not changed one bit. Quotes from Shakespear only affirm this.

Which is?

Which has been given on this very thread. Go search for it yourself if you really care to know, or look it up in the dictionary.
I am not doing "double work", for I have already provided it today. Now you can do some work, if you really care.

Does the NKJV just translate a few words more literally than the KJV? Or does it leave out phrases like all the other MV's?

Just curious!

Webster's New World dictionary

You still have not provided a year. The Oxford English dictionary cited is much older than the Webster's New World that I have (I have had mine for many years).

The NKJV is better in some spots and worse in others (as can be said of all Bible versions). However, it was translated from the TR just as was the KJV. So, it has all the same verses.

Absolutely not! When the NKJV follows the TR, the NKJV has 40% non-TR words. On other hand, the NKJV has 2,000 infected words that God did not preserve.

You repeating the same junk 50 times a day will not make it true.

Once again, for the umpteenth time you are wrong. You continue to make this erronious statement and assume no one will call you on it. You need to quit spreading you false information. It just makes everything else you say suspect.

Previously not addressed in responses to your question, but no, the NKJV does *not* "leave out" any words, phrases, or verses such as might be the case when comparing the KJV to various modern versions.

Really? I wasn't aware the Jesus Christ (which, btw, is not his name), spoke English.

If Jesus doesn't speak English, how is it then you know what he has said, or any other English speaking person for that matter?

It IS HIS NAME IN ENGLISH and to whom is our Lord and Saviour - BTW.

Uhh, I get what he said translated into my language (which is American Common English, not Elizabethan era King's English).

You're 100% wrong!!! Jesus Christ is an anglicanized form of the Greek phrase Iesus Christus. Iesus Christus is English is "Joshua the Messiah".

Jesus' birth name is Yeshua Bar Yowceph. In English, his name is Joshua son of Joseph.

Joshua means "God Saves", and Joseph means "He Who Will Add". Fitting, imo.

I was waiting for the day that I had heard it all. With the above statement I think maybe that day has come.

Are you serious? Jesus spoke English, and not just English according to your stand He must have spoke King James English. Which by the way, why don't you speak King James English if it is superior to todays English and God inspired?

You are wrong, as this generation, and generations past, Know their Lord and Saviour by the name of Jesus Christ. Go to any church on Sunday, and read the English scriptures, and His name is Jesus Christ, NOT JOSHUA.

Jesus Christ is not just in the past, or coming in the future, Jesus is also very much in the present and speaks to us in our own language, to which He has provided.

The language which we speak in the present is American Common English. Hence, it must be concluded by you that Jesus speaks to us in American Common English.

In the future, the language is likely to evolve, as it always has. Hence, Jesus will speak to us in the future in whatever languave we speak then.

Which if true John, destroys the KJVOism of those on this board. We do not speak King James English today. Michelle you have shot yourself in foot yet again.

I did no such thing, but rather it is you, who are trying to shoot my foot, as I know the Lord speaks to me through His English words that He has so wonderfully provided, regardless of what your personal OPINION of it is. You say the English scriptures named the KJB are not understood in todays modern English? You are so absolutely wrong, that if it were not the saddest thing I have read today, I would be lauphing.
