"The Obama campaign apparently didn't look backwards into history when selecting its new campaign slogan, "Forward" — a word with a long and rich association with European Marxism.

<snipped>

Many Communist and radical publications and entities throughout the 19th and 20th centuries had the name "Forward!" or its foreign cognates. Wikipedia has an entire section called "Forward (generic name of socialist publications)."

The Obama campaign released its new campaign slogan Monday in a 7-minute video. The title card has simply the word "Forward" with the "O" having the familiar Obama logo from 2008. It will be played at rallies this weekend that mark the Obama re-election campaign's official beginning."

Going back to his roots and appealing to his main constituency.

A couple of possibilities here:

1. No one in the Obama campaign has any background in history or political science and was ignorant that the word Forward has been used extensively in 19th century Marxist and socialist public relations campaigns.

2. The Obama campaign is well aware of the historical usage of Forward as a slogan in Marxist and socialist public relations campaigns and decided to go with it anyway.

I'm not sure which scenario is the more frightening!

Another example of a lack of research on your part. Richard Nixon used the phrase "Forward Together" as part of his 1969 inaugural theme.

The Nixon Administration for all its faults had no Marxist tendencies.

It is like the other thread where you were talking about people serving this nation. What did you ever do?

Nixon did not build a campaign theme around 'Forward'. The theme "Forward Together" was used on Inauguration Day and quickly forgotten. In fact, it wasn't even supposed to be the theme. The phrase "Bring Us Together" had been a campaign rallying cry, but H.R. Haldeman changed it to "Forward Together" for a day. From the article where you found the photo:

The Inaugural Committee wanted to adopt "Bring Us Together" as the inaugural theme, appalling Safire, who said, "That wasn't the theme of the campaign." Safire and other aides felt the administration should seek to advance its agenda, rather than seeking consensus on policy, and White House Chief of Staff-designate H. R. Haldeman was able to change the theme to "Forward Together."

Speaking of research have you found the posts where I claim Obama is not a U.S. citizen?

It is like the other thread where you were talking about people serving this nation. What did you ever do?

What does my personal service to the nation have to do with whether or not Obama and Romney have served? Sorry, I don't see the connection. Are you saying no one can determine if someone has served unless they themselves have served?

It is not wise to live in the past with no thought or planning for the future.

Matthew 6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

If tomorrow will take care of itself why do you get up and go to work each day. After all, if you believe what you quoted you will be taken care of if you just sit and watch "your ship come in."

Now this is an interesting observation.

Obama is merely using the word "forward" for a campaign slogan.

His dramatic running up of the national debt tells us that he cares not a whit about the future of the country.

Why does so much of your "advice" go against scripture ? Do you not trust God ? Is God a liar ? Your words seem to try to make him one.

Oh, I disagree, SN. This is definitely a Marxist tendency: From Wikipedia:

".....analysis of the American health care system (i.e., The Social Transformation of American Medicine) that Richard Nixon, advised by the "father of Health Maintenance Organizations", Dr. Paul M. Ellwood, Jr., was the first mainstream political leader to take deliberate steps to change American health care from its longstanding not-for-profit business principles into a for-profit model that would be driven by the insurance industry. In 1973, Congress passed the Health Maintenance Organization Act, which encouraged rapid growth of HMOs, the first form of managed care."

Also, Nixon forged ties with communist China (in spite of human rights abuses, among others) and was responsible for first opening up US trade with China. Nixon was no hero for America. :tear:

I am no fan of Nixon, but I never heard the "cold warrior" Nixon assoicated with Marxism, maybe socialism.

Only in your mind. You quote it with no context and in a thread where you quote makes it out of scriptural context.

Now, how about answering my question about going to work? Did you forget scripture about working?

And who does the second-in-line look lke?

A man we all know who is no longer with us. Some loved him and some hated him.

And the ones following him are those who follow blindly and refuse to see the harm that was done as he took us over the cliff.
